What’s happening with King Charles and Queen Camilla?
March 9, 2025
It was reported that His Majesty King Charles III has purchased a property close to his wife Queen Camilla’s private home in Wiltshire for £3 million (approximately $6.1 million AUD) using private funds.
The property is located by the river Avon and shares a private laneway with Camilla’s residence, Ray Mill House. She often uses Ray Mill House as a countryside refuge. The new property, called the Old Mill, is also a heritage building that dates from the time of the Normans.
The former owner of the property, Phil Clayton, converted parts of the property to holiday apartments, which local residents opposed. There were concerns that any new owners would develop it further, which could be a security risk to the Queen.

Fans quickly took to the comments to try and figure out what is coming soon. “The King’s Podcast?,” one comment proffered.
“The King starting a podcast?,” another read.
It wouldn’t be too surprising if Charles launched a podcast; his wife, Queen Camilla, did so last year.
However, it turns out the King has launched his own personal playlist with Apple Music dubeed The King’s Music Room, to mark Commonwealth Day on March 10.
The radio broadcast includes his favourite tunes from across the Commonwealth. He has chosen Aussie pop icon Kylie Minogue, as well as celebrated Jamaican artists, Grace Jones and Bob Marley in his playlist.
In a statement alongside the announcement, King Charles said:
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories, comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places. But perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy. So this is what I particularly wanted to share with you, songs which have brought me joy.”
The broadcast will air at 6am in the UK (4pm AEST) on Monday, March 10, with subsequent airings during Monday and Tuesday.
