In fantastic news for royal fans, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle extended their deal with Netflix in 2025, which means new television projects are in the works.
The collaboration between Netflix and Archewell Productions first began in 2020, and kick-started the production of many documentaries, scripted series, lifestyle and sporting programs.
Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan exited the British royal family in January 2020, royal watchers have been curious about how their lives have transformed since.
And, this deal with Netflix provided some insight.
What is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new deal with Netflix?
After the Sussexes moved away from royal duties in 2020, they swiftly signed a five-year Netflix contract. It is worth $100 million according to The New York Times.
This new agreement with Netflix has simply been extended. However, the length and worth of this new contract are currently unknown.
“We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand,” Meghan said.
“My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”
Is Prince Harry making a documentary about Princess Diana?
Nothing of yet has been confirmed by Netflix or the Sussexes regarding a Princess Diana documentary. However, a source has claimed Prince Harry has approached a number of his late mother’s friends and relatives to take part in a project.
“The Duke has discussed a number of possible projects to mark the 30th anniversary of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales’s passing,” the source told The Telegraph. “Nothing has been finalised or confirmed, and he is still considering the most meaningful way to honour her legacy during this important anniversary year.”
One prominent figure Prince Harry allegedly contacted was his uncle and Diana’s younger brother Charles, Earl Spencer, who in September 2026 published the memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister. The novel contains his most sincere memories with his sister, and her life in the British royal family.
Shortly after this speculation spread, the Prince of Wales allegedly rejected multiple proposals to produce or appear in a documentary tributing his mother. The Sunday Times claimed Prince William is still “really emotional” over his mothers passing, and remains a “difficult situation” for him.
What TV shows have Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released with Netflix?
The first television show Prince Harry and Meghan produced with Netflix was Harry & Meghan, a documentary released in December 2022. The six-episode series was a reflection of their relationship. From living in the public eye, the wedding, to their royal exit, and living in Montecito, California, with their children.
In the same year, the Duke and Duchess released Live to Lead. This is a documentary about leaders around the globe dedicated to making a difference.
The more sports-focused programs include Heart of Invictus, which was released in 2023 and 2024’s Polo.
In 2025, the Duchess released With Love, Meghan, which received a second season with the new deal. In this lifestyle series, Meghan invited guests to her California estate to share cooking, gardening and hosting tips.
Netflix also shared that there are a couple of upcoming projects in the works. Those include With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, which released in December; an adaptation of the bestselling romance novel Meet Me at the Lake; and a short documentary, Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within.
