Meghan Markle’s relationship with her estranged father, Thomas has made headlines once again.
The Duchess of Sussex’s father is reportedly in hospital in the Philippines having his lower left leg amputated.
One of his doctors told The Mail On Sunday that it was a “life-or-death surgery.”
Thomas further shared his wish to see his daughter “one more time” and said, “I don’t want to die estranged.”
A spokesperson for the Sussex’s said Meghan sent her father an email on Friday but didn’t receive it because it was an old address, the Daily Mail has reported.
With Thomas’ permission, the hospital told the publication that they have not heard from the Duchess.

The mother-of-two has struggled trusting Thomas since.
“I said, ‘I just need you to tell me and if you tell me the truth, we can help,’ and he wasn’t able to do that,” she told Oprah in 2021. “That, for me, has really resonated, especially now as a mother… I look at Archie, I think about this child [on the way], and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child. I can’t imagine it. So it’s hard for me to reconcile that.”

While discussing his surgery with The Mail On Sunday, Thomas revealed that he wanted to meet his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet “before it’s too late.”
