There are few lives as heavily monitored as Princess Diana’s, from her birth in 1961, becoming the People’s Princess, welcoming two children amid her marriage to King Charles, a scandalous cheating scandal, to her passing in 1997.
In the many notable events of her life, 1991 was considerably a quiet year for Princess Diana. She made several overseas trips to Brazil, Pakistan, and Canada.

It was an unhappy time for Diana, however with her husband’s affair and a deeply complex relationship with the media.
But it was also the year she made five hours worth of audio recordings with her close friend Dr. James Colthurst. These tapes were covertly removed from Kensington Palace and delivered to Andrew Morton.
From these recordings, he authored Diana Her True Story, which altered how the public viewed the monarchy.
In the three decades since her passing, less than one hour of the material has been heard publicly. But that is about to change.
Production company, Love Monday TV, has secured full access to the archive. They will will work alongside Andrew and James to revisit the novel, the risks Diana took and the scrutiny.

These never-before-heard tapes will cover Diana’s life in the British royal family, which truly began as a child when she grew up 500 metres away from Sandringham Estate.
Princess Diana also gave her prediction for her then-husband Charles and Camilla.
One of the last times we heard Princess Diana talking about the relationship between Charles and Camilla, she said an iconic quote that is still remembered to this day. “Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded,” she said in a 1995 interview with the BBC.
We wonder what historical quote she’ll give next…
Finally, we will also discover Diana’s ambitions away from the monarchy.
All will be revealed in the three-part docuseries, Diana: The Unheard Truth releasing on August 31, 2027. It will mark the 30th anniversary of her passing.
