No one can deny the love that pets bring into the family. While we might not speak the same language, they are the best furry companion one can ever ask for.
And royal families from around the globe a dog-loving group. From Princess Catherine to Queen Mary of Denmark, we are rounding up the royal families and their pooches.
Prince and Princess of Wales
Adding to the Prince and Princess of Wales’ perfect life, the pair also own a beautiful black English cocker spaniel named Orla.

The little fur baby was welcomed into the family back in 2020, gifted to them by Princess Catherine’s brother, James Middleton.
In 2025, Orla had four puppies. A few months later, Princess Catherine then revealed she had another dog who was “only eight months,” as per The Independent. Many believe the Wales’ must have kept one dog from Orla’s litter.

These theories were confirmed on May 2, 2026, when the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram shared an adorable photo of the dog, wishing it a happy first birthday.
The post was captioned: “Welcome to the family, Otto! 1 today 🥳 🎂”
King Charles and Queen Camilla
King Charles and Queen Camilla have a big dog family. It’s confirmed they own two dogs Bluebell and Moley, plus another unconfirmed dog received in 2025.

Camilla owns a female rescue dog, Moley, who is a mixed breed including Jack Russell, according to Hello! Magazine. The Queen chose her name because she “looks just like a mole.”
Their other pooch is a rescue Jack Russell Terrier called Bluebell.
Princess Anne
The outdoorsy and adventurous Princess Anne has a number of animals. Her dogs are English Bull Terriers, who haven’t been the most well behaved historically.
In 2002, her dog Dotty bit two children and her other dog later attacked one of Queen Elizabeth’s corgis.
As an Olympic equestrian, the Princess Royal also owns horses. When she competed in the Olympics in 1976, she rode the Queen’s horse, Goodwill.
Queen Mary and King Frederik
Call us biased, but Queen Mary and King Frederik may have the cutest dogs, two Australian Border Collies named Grace and Coco.
Both brown and white in colour, the pair are almost impossible to tell apart. Grace is the youngest of the two, with the-then Crown Prince adopting the puppy in 2017.

Queen Margaret
Denmark’s Queen Margaret is a particular fan of one small dog breed: dachshunds.
The former monarch has a sausage dog named Tilla, who was most recently spotted with the nation’s royal family to celebrate King Frederik’s 57th birthday in April 2026. During which Queen Mary reached down to pet little Tilla, after the pup came bounding over.
