Before Airbnb, hotels were simply places where we rested our heads at the end of a long day of sightseeing. However, staying in unique accommodation can be just as fun as travelling and sightseeing too. On Airbnb you can stay in chateaus, treehouses and even castles. But now, the company has taken the concept of unique accommodation to the next level with their ‘icons’ stays. From drifting away in the house from UP! to staying in Prince’s iconic Purple Rain house, the company have unveiled 11 one-of-a-kind experiences to stay in.
“Icons take you inside worlds that only existed in your imagination – until now,” Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we’ve created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth.”
All the experiences are priced under $100 per guest, but you’ll need to request the stay through Airbnb’s app and you’ll be selected via lottery.

Prince’s Purple Rain House
Rock aficionados rejoice! If you love Prince then you’ll love this Airbnb.
“Prince purchased the Minneapolis, Minnesota home featured in the legendary film ‘Purple Rain,’ but it’s never been available to the public until now. Explore the home and go crazy for rare and special tracks from Prince’s world in an exclusive studio session,” Airbnb says.

The UP! House
Airbnb have also brought the whimsical magic of Carl’s floating house to life.
“Sleep inside one of Disney and Pixar’s most iconic homes—and yes, it floats. You’ll explore Carl’s world in this detailed re-creation of his home, complete with more than 8,000 balloons, and located in the scenic red rocks of Abiquiu, New Mexico.”

The Ferrari Museum
