The competition is heating up on Australian Idol 2026 as the number of contestants whittle down to determine the winner.
On the panel for the 11th season are judges Kyle Sandilands, Amy Shark and Marcia Hines, joined by hosts Ricki-Lee Coulter and Scott Tweedie.
The remaining aspiring singers on Australian Idol are fiercely and passionately fighting for the top spot – which means viewers are in for a treat every episode.
But to determine the winner of Australian Idol 2026, some have to be eliminated. Below, is everyone who has left the competition after the Top 12 was chosen.
Jacinta
Singing Kiss Me by Sizpence None The Richer, Jacinta truly impressed the crowd. Sadly, her journey came to an end after making it to the Top 6.
“I would often tell my mum I felt like I didn’t have a place in the world, but I finally feel like I have one,” the 25-year-old reflected.
Tre
Tre’s smooth vocals impressed the crowd during his performance of John Legend’s Ordinary People. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as he was eliminated after making it to the Top 6.
“I feel lucky to be up here. I’ve learnt so much. I’ve grown a lot,” he said.
John
John, 17, had the crowd on his feet during his brilliant performance of Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley. Sadly, the Australian Idol journey has come to an end for Bunbury-raised singer.
But making it to the Top 6 was an incredible achievement. Following his elimination, John thanked the team and his fellow contestants.
“Everything has been out of this world. I’m so happy for how far I’ve got,” he said.
Charlie
Charlie (right) got the crowd and the judges on their feet while performing Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as the 31-year-old was eliminated from the competition.
“I’m so thankful to be a part of this journey,” he shared. “This has meant the world to me. I have been dreaming of this since Guy Sebastian won in 2003.”
Simela
While Simela’s vocals were beautiful while singing I’m Like a Bird by Nelly Furtado, she didn’t make it to the Top 6. Following her elimination, the 31-year-old said, “I’m going to try not to cry.”
“Thank you so much for all the support and the love back home,” she said, adding, “To all the mums out there, don’t stop dreaming.”
Wanwue Tarpeh
Unfortunately, Wanwue’s journey on Australian Idol has come to end. Battling for her spot in the competition, the aspiring singer performed Jessie J’s Price Tag.
Despite her elimination, Wanwue’s infectious energy never waivered.
“This is not the end. This is the start of my journey. I have come so far, I’m not stopping here,” she said.“All good things must come to an end. There’s always a storm before the rainbow.”
Harry Lamb
After being among the lowest scores, Harry competed against three other contestants. Stripping back his rock persona, Harry performed The Fray’s How To Save A Life.
Unfortunately, he was eliminated from the competition, but he praised the “many highlights and friends he has made along the way.”
Sophie Poidevin
Sophie’s journey on Australian Idol has come to an end after making it to the Top 12. The 20-year-old earned a standing ovation from the judges for her performance of What a Man by Linda Lyndell.
“I got to live my dreams on this stage,” Sophie reflected before encouraging other artists to “believe in yourself first.”
Lily-Grace Grant
Country singer Lily-Grace, 18, was sadly eliminated from the competition after making the Top 12.
For her last performance, Lily-Grace sung Sweet Home Alabama by Lynard Skynard. Despite the disappointing end to her journey, Lily-Grace was grateful to the judges, her family and everyone behind the scenes.
“This is not the end of my musical journey, this is just the beginning,” she promised.
