Farmer Wants A Wife Australia has found its first couple of 2026: Alex and Eddy.
Their connection was apparent from the very beginning, with Farmer Alex visibly head over boots for Eddy. However, remaining dedicated to the FWAW journey, he explored other connections with his ladies.
But none could compare to Eddy, a 30-year-old lawyer from Queensland.
As soon as Eddy read Alex’s letter, telling her to meet him in the forest, a smile spread across her face. “I’ve been thinking about you a lot. You can wear anything and still look beautiful, but err on the side of dressy today. A car will be there soon,” the letter read.
And Alex was enamoured as soon as he spotted her.
“Today, I was so nervous to have you here, and I knew as soon as you got here it would feel fine, and it does. Looking at you, – it’s everything,” he declared, hand-in-hand with Eddy in a beautiful forest surrounded by candles.
“Over the past few weeks, getting to know you, it’s been a wild, wild ride, and at every turn I’m so grateful that I’m doing it with you. It’s been lovely as well, because I feel like at every turn you’ve met me where I’m at.”
The 28-year-old beef and mushroom farmer continued to reflect on their first date together and how different it felt compared to those past awkward first dates.
“I was just totally intoxicated by everything about you, but I was just trying my hardest to keep up. I had a really good time with you on that date, and I knew I wanted to know more about you. And then that was only 10 minutes.
“The way that you made me feel, Ed, scares me. It’s terrifying, to be honest. I haven’t felt this way about anyone before, and I haven’t felt this way about anyone so fast either. Your wit, your beauty, your radiance. Spending time with you, being around you, it’s just so easy.
“I’ve fallen in love with you, Ed,” he concluded.
It was around this time that our hearts began to drop because Eddy whispered: “It’s so hard for me to say that, and I’ve been hurt so many times before.”
Just when we thought the rejection was coming, she added, “But I want to keep doing this with you; I really care about you. And I feel like I will definitely get there, like I am falling in love with you.”
“As long as we’re on the same path,” Alex responded.
Around this point, our heartbeats returned to normal. We hope the lovebirds are still together to this day. But as viewers know, their biggest obstacle was religion, mostly coming from Farmer Alex’s standpoint on the topic.
When asking for his parents’ advice, his mum, Susie, reminded him that relationships take compromise.
“Obviously, every relationship has a give and take in it… If she’s the one for you, sometimes in a relationship you have to compromise. Are you prepared to compromise? Always keep an open mind in life,” she said.
But everyone is asking, are the budding lovebirds still together? An exclusive report from New Idea sadly suggests not. Another insider told Woman’s Day that once the cameras stopped rolling, their relationship “cooled off”.
“The plan was always to protect the ending,” New Idea quotes their insider. “Everyone wanted viewers to believe they were still together.”
Neither Farmer Alex nor Eddy has confirmed whether they are together or not, and we likely won’t get a confirmation until after this season wraps. Stay tuned to see if they do become one of FWAW’s iconic couples.
