Farmer Wants A Wife Australia isn’t something you can typically prepare for, nor can you ask many people for advice on how to deal with five ladies suddenly residing on your farm.
But Farmer Alex took a step that no one has done before.
“I did a self-development course before the whole filming experience, [to improve] my ability to handle the emotional situations that I imagined I was going to be in,” the 2026 farmer confessed to The Weekly.
With all the heightened emotions on FWAW, Farmer Alex didn’t want the messiness of drama to convolute his pursuit of love. So, the 28-year-old beef and mushroom farmer signed up for a neuro-linguistics course.
“It’s just about getting language to work in your favour; learning how language influences the way you perceive the world and how you can better interact with it,” Alex explained.
“A lot of disagreements that people have is because of miscommunication. So that’s why I did it. I wasn’t going to get sucked into drama. I just wanted to go in [to FWAW] and meet someone.”
This wasn’t the only thing Alex had to adjust to while filming FWAW, he joked, “It wasn’t hard, but you had to stand up for a long time.”
The ultimate romantic hopes to find someone artistic, fun, and “sometimes a bit cheeky.” Unfortunately, in Alex’s hometown of Kin Kin in Queensland the dating pool is almost non-existence with most people in a relationship.
“[FWAW] was a great opportunity for me to meet some people and fully show them my life. Also get some time off work,” he joked. “The farm is full throttle most of the time, and don’t get me wrong I love it, but there’s not much space for dating.”
When we spoke to Alex, FWAW was yet to premiere, but they’d already wrapped filming. So, when we asked what he hopes his life will look like a year from now, he simply responded, “I’m on a really good path, and have been on a good path from probably the past year.”
“I just want to remain on this path. I’m really happy, healthy, sleeping well, eating well, and ideally by next year I’ve got a Europe trip under my belt. Apart from that, I’m pretty happy on the farm.”
