Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen are notoriously private when it comes to their relationship, and both took to Instagram to share that they filed to end their marriage in 2023.
Isla made some comments about her new life as a single person in an interview with Elle Decoration, where she showcased her London townhouse, which she described as a “sanctuary” for her, her children, and their many pets. However, it was a massive moment for her when all her newly chosen furnishings arrived in this new space.
“When it all arrived, I did have a bit of a cry because this was my first time as a single woman, being in a home of my own,” she admitted. But, even after a trying few years, with her divorce and the passing of her father, Isla has persevered in her life and work. ‘I’m enjoying this new version of my life,’
She swapped LA and Australia for London, but describes it as a “fabulous city.”
“It’s a place where you can tell stories, and I guess I’m writing my own one now,” she shared with the interviewer.
In the Instagram story announcing their divorce, Isla and Sacha, dressed in tennis outfits, used the sport as a metaphor for the news.
“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” the statement starts.
“In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
