The film – which is described as a “heartbreaking comedy” – released to cinemas on November 14, 2025.
And it will be made available on Netflix in Australia on December 5, 2025.
Who is the cast of Jay Kelly?
Well, as aforementioned, George will lead a seriously stellar cast.
He’ll play the titular character opposite Adam Sandler, the veteran comedic actor, who is playing Ron Sukenick.
But also set to star in the film are Emmy winner Billy Crudup, best known for The Morning Show (and for being Naomi Watts’ husband), Oscar winner Laura Dern, best known for the Jurassic Park trilogy, and Emmy nominee Riley Keough, best known for Daisy Jones and the Six.
Grace Edwards, Stacy Keach, Emily Mortimer, Patrick Wilson, Nicôle Lecky, Thaddea Graham, Jim Broadbent, Eve Hewson, Alba Rohrwacher, Lenny Henry, Josh Hamilton, and Greta Gerwig round out the cast
What is Jay Kelly about?
The film is about a journey of self-discovery, regret and glory. It follows famous movie star of the same name, Jay Kelly – who feels his time being loved in the spotlight is fleeting – and his devoted manager Ron.
Jay inevitably has a “nervous breakdown” after his daughter leaves for Paris, France. And so, Jay begins a journey across Europe with his trusted team in tow.
“Everyone knows Jay Kelly, but he doesn’t know himself,” the tagline read.
