In Hollywood, where relationships often face scrutiny under the unforgiving spotlight, few love stories captivate as much as the one of Naomi Watts and her husband Billy Crudup.
Both esteemed actors in their own right, Naomi and Billy have managed to keep their personal connection remarkably private.
However, they do share glimpses into their relationship’s milestone moments including their wedding in June 2023. Naomi announced the exciting news via Instagram, sharing an image from their courthouse wedding along with the caption, “Hitched!”
She began dating Billy Crudup in 2017; it’s believed romance sparked between the two while they were filming the 2016 Netflix series Gypsy. They first met – albeit briefly – in 2009 during the 24 Hour Plays on Broadway benefit.
Their first red carpet debut wasn’t until February 2022, when they attended the SAG Awards; Billy was nominated for his performance in Morning Wars.
On June 10, 2024, one year after their first wedding, the actresses brother Ben Watts posted a trio of videos to his Instagram page of Naomi and Billy’s vowel renewal ceremony with close family and friends in Mexico City.
Ben, a photographer and director, initially shared a video of what seemed to be the couple’s rehearsal dinner. “I’m making a video … but tomorrow I’m taking pictures. Family x friends and lotsa fun, @naomiwatts x Billy in Mexico City,” he wrote in the caption.
The video featured moments with the happy couple, and their guests, including actor Justin Theroux. It also showed a touching speech by Naomi during the wedding.
“This is a reminder of what life’s about, the affirmation of love being one of the simplest things but of most importance,” she shared.
In the second video captioned “Off they go Naomi x Billy x family”, it shows the couple and their family crowded into an elevator making their way to the ceremony. Naomi was in a beautiful white dress and Billy in a suave tuxedo.
The final video shared by Ben is of the ceremony with the couple and their bridal party making their way down the aisle, before the ceremony gets underway. You can see the actor’s children, the beautiful church setting and the couple sharing a kiss.
On January 24, 2024, during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Naomi gushed about the couple’s New York courthouse wedding.
“It was really lovely. It was a classic New York day. You ran into all kinds of people, some were dressed to the nines, and some were walking quickly in and out. It was very special and memorable,” she said.
Since then, they’ve shared some adorable moments together like celebrating Naomi’s Hollywood Walk of Fame with her son Sasha Schreiber, the 2025 Venice Film Festival, and walking many more red carpets.
