British-born, but Australian claimed, Naomi Watts is the proud mother of two lovely children: Sasha and Kai.
During an eleven year relationship with fellow actor, Liev Schreiber, The Impossible actress welcomed both children. Despite their amicable split in 2016, they are a brilliant example of co-parenting.
“We’re doing things very differently. I’m pretty proud of us, corny as that may sound,” Naomi told Net-a-Porter in August 2019. “We’ve made it our absolute priority to be good and kind to each other and we’re absolutely committed to that.”
Naomi and Liev’s first child together was son Sasha, born in July 2007. At the time, Naomi was 35 and confessed to InStyle how difficult it was to conceive. But her difficult journey made the pregnancy that much sweeter.
While filming Eastern Promises, Naomi was shooting with costar Sinead Cusack when she felt Sasha kick. “It was an astounding moment. I’ll never forget that moment,” she told InStyle.
A year later in December 2008, Naomi and Liev welcomed daughter, Kai.
Having more than one child was always on the cards for Naomi, telling InStyle in 2022, “I had a childhood that was a lot of moving around, we lost our dad very young, and I knew that having a sibling was so wonderful.”
In March 2025, Kai made her runway debut walking for Valentino at Paris Fashion Week.
Most recently, on September 15, 2026, Naomi and Liev sat front and centre for the Thom Browne Summer/Spring 2027 runway in New York in support of their daughter.
After splitting from Liev, the British-born actress found love once more with Billy Crudup in 2017, and married in June 2023. During an exclusive interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly, Naomi confessed she was a bit of a “late bloomer.”
“Some things are just worth the wait. It’s going to sound corny, but what I’ve come to learn, [and] the people I connected with – friends, doctors, all of that through owning this – it’s become like a purpose,” she confessed. “Everything in my life came late. Except for menopause. [Laughs.] It’s the only race I ever won.”

Milan Fashion Week
With Kai becoming the hot topic in the modeling world, it should come as no surprise that she and Naomi made a high profile appearance at Milan Fashion Week. The pair posed ahead of the Gucci The Store Show for the Womenswear Spring/Summer 2027 collection in Italy.
Summer recap
Away from the flashing lights at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival red carpet, Naomi spared some time to share a “summer recap” to Instagram. Among the photos, one of which she was enjoying an Aperol Spritz with her hubby, was the above photo with Sasha and Liev.
Dropping Sasha off at uni
It was an emotional family affair on the University of Southern California (USC) campus as Liev and Naomi dropped off and helped Sasha get settled in his dorm room.
“We laughed, we cried, I had a few extra secret cries and maybe some not so private ones,” Naomi wrote in a post on Instagram.
“We had deep talks mixed in with a few fart jokes… 🤣 then gave advice about how the world works. But then remembered: he’s got this!! He did it!! He dreamed big and worked really hard for something wonderful. Go @sashapeteschreiber – we love you so much. #usc”
