Mark Beretta had his final appearance on Sunrise as sports anchor on Friday December 12, but who will his replacement be?
Viewers of the morning program were shocked when Mark announced his departure after 22 years at Sunrise, and a total of 30 years at Channel Seven.
“If you had told me in February 1995, when I walked through the doors of Seven Melbourne for my first day, that 30 years later I would still be doing the job I love, I wouldn’t have believed you, but I would have punched the air,” he said.
“It has been an honour, and I have loved every day, every experience working with the amazing group of people.”
Now, viewers are curious to know who will be sitting in the sports anchors chair.

During Stellar magazines podcast Something to Talk About, Melissa Doyle revealed if she would ever return.
“I’ve been there, done that,” she admitted.
Melissa worked on Sunrise for 14 years before departing in 2013, and has been busy ever since. The 55-year-old has hosted Seven’s Sunday Night, wrote a book, and co-hosted The House of Wellness.
“I left on top. I don’t believe in going back; I believe in what’s next,” Mel said regarding her Sunrise exit. “How do I keep evolving as a human, as a woman, as a journalist? What’s my next challenge? What can I learn? What can I try? So yeah, no. I loved it, but I’ve done it.”
While Mel won’t be taking on the gig, Woman’s Day have suggested 32-year-old journalist Katie Brown could replace Mark.

Katie is a familiar face on the morning show given she is currently filling in for weatherman Sam Mac while he is on paternity leave with his two children; Margot and Mabel.
“The irony in all of this is that Beretta is one of Katie’s biggest supporters and has almost been a mentor to her,” a source told the publication.
Despite these presumptions, Channel Seven is yet to confirm who will replace Mark Beretta as the sports presenter on Sunrise.
