Sam McMillan aka Sam Mac has just announced the happy news that he and his long-term fiancée Rebecca James have welcomed their third child into the world.
In an apprearance on Sunrise, the weather presenter – who is currently on annual leave – revealed the exciting news from their hospital room, announcing it was the first son for the couple, who are already parents to Margot, 3, and Mabel 2.
It’s a boy, it’s a boy it’s, it’s a boy,” said the beaming three-time dad. “I just keep saying it. I’m so happy. We’re so happy.”
The couple have named their newborn Miles Samuel McMillan.
Taking viewers in to meet Miles, who had arrived just 17 hours previously, Sam said that “Bec is doing amazing” after the birth.
“I’m feeling really good yeah. A bit sore, a bit tired, but a great first so far,” she added, while filling out the couple’s cot card.
“Bec, going on national TV a day after birth, you’re an amazing mum,” said thrilled host Natalie Barr.
Born at 2.19pm on Thursday July 23, Miles weighed 3.8 kilos and measures 50 centimetres. “Very similar to the girls,” said Rebecca.
Along with his thrilled Sunrise co-stars, celebrity friends have flooded to Sam’s Instagram to offer their congratulations.
“Incredible you guys. The best little man!” said Dr Chris Brown.
“Bravo my man awesome news love to the familia,” added Miguel Maestre.
It was on August 15, 2024, Sam took to Instagram to announce the birth of second child Mabel.
“It’s a girl! Again. We are absolutely delighted to welcome Mabel August McMillan to the world (born last night 14/8/24).
“It’s my destiny to be surrounded by beautiful women! A stark contrast to my high school years… I’ll share more details soon, but Bec was our warrior yet again, Mabel was deliciously chunky & chilled & now we take a collective breather before Hurricane Margot passes through to meet her baby sister later tonight.”
Sam and Bec first began dating in 2021, welcomed their first child Margot Grace McMillan in September 2022, and got engaged late last year.
Sam’s Channel 7 colleagues were quick to congratulate him and Bec on their joyous news.
Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew wrote, “You all look remarkably fresh faced. Enjoy this beautiful time x,” while Better Homes and Gardens host Johanna Griggs commented, “Hugest congratulations to you both… and to Margo. #gorgeousfamily.”
