But there’s one condition…

The Christmas movie, which was released in 2006 and starred Jude and Jack opposite Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, has become a cult classic in recent years — which is why many now ask:

Is there going to be a The Holiday 2?

Well, Jude — who played Graham AKA Mr Napkin Head — says there has been a discussion about a sequel.

“So, when it became apparent to us as a cast and a team that the love of this film was just ongoing and people were really making it a part of their holiday season on a regular basis, we started to sort of communicate because we were thrilled,” Jude told Comic Book on December 2, 2024.

“You can’t plan for something like that, it’s such a delight when you hear that that happens. When does that happen? A handful of films maybe, so we felt very lucky and it’s a beautiful thing. So, of course, that conversation comes up, ‘Is there an idea?’”

Jude went on to say that The Holiday 2 will only happen if Nancy Meyers — who wrote and directed the original film — is involved.

“That all lands in Nancy Meyers’ lap … She’s pretty meticulous. So, she would only do it if it was a really robust idea and then it would be whether the four of us would come back. I would be curious to see what they’re all doing.”

Jack echoed these comments on March 30, 2025, at the premiere of A Minecraft Movie.

“Oh my god, I love Nancy; I hope she does [The Holiday 2],” the actor told news.com.au.

“There’s nothing like the first one, but never say never. I love working with great artists and if any of them come back and say they have something special for me, I would jump at the chance.”

Of course, just more than two years ago, Nancy herself shut down rumours of a sequel to The Holiday

The Sun reported that The Holiday 2 would start filming in 2023. Following this, Nancy swiftly took to Instagram and wrote on December 7, 2022:

“Sorry, but it’s not true.”

Then, also in December 2022, Kate Winslet — who played the lovelorn Iris in The Holiday — told People that she knew nothing about a sequel.

“I promise you not an agent or a representative or anyone from the first one around has had any conversation with me about that. Hand on heart, that’s never come up,” the Oscar-winner said.
