In the first weekend of March, Formula One (F1) drivers are travelling to Melbourne for the 2026 Australian Grand Prix.
Motorsports enthusiasts will see some of the world’s best F1 drivers hit the tarmac, including 2025 champion, McLaren’s Lando Norris, who famously ended Max Verstappen’s four-year reign.
Racing in the 2026 season is 22 drivers total for eleven teams. The only driver representing Australia is Oscar Piastri, racing for McLaren.
While his teammate won last year, Oscar feels there is something Mercedes is holding back.
“Mercedes seems reasonably confident about the development of the engine, and we, as a team, feel positive, but the real litmus test is going to be Melbourne,” he told Pole Position.

“Until every team shows their cards and unleashes the true potential of their cars, it is a guessing game.”
The Melbourne circuit length is 5.278 kilometres. In 58 laps, the drivers will complete a staggering 306.124km.
