Prince Louis has officially dabbled in photography; something his mum, Princess Catherine, has loved for years.
The official Instagram for the Prince and Princess of Wales posted two photographs for World Cancer Day on February 4, 2025. The caption revealed that they were taken by none other than six-year-old Louis.
The first image is a striking shot of Catherine in a wintery forest with her arms outstretched. The second is a close-up of black leaves.
Someone has overlaid the text, “Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease,” on the second image.

Both images are extremely poignant. Especially in light of Catherine herself being diagnosed with cancer and subsequently undergoing chemotherapy last year. Thankfully, she’s now in remission.
Furthermore, it’s clear that Catherine has coached Louis on how to take photographs.
“One of the fantastic things about photography is really capturing that moment so it’s not staged; it’s not setting it up perfectly; it’s not clearing your house away so you got a perfect studio setup but it’s really capturing those moments that feel real to you,” she told This Morning in 2020. Louis’ first snap is certainly candid!

It’s unsurprising that one of Catherine’s three children has picked up photography, as she’s long been an accomplished photographer.
For instance, she snapped Country Life’s 2022 cover photo of Queen Camilla. And has been behind many of the official royal birthday portraits.
What is slightly surprising though is that Louis — rather than Prince George or Princess Charlotte — was the one to pick up a camera. The little royal is known for his hilarious and cheeky antics. Maybe this is a sign that he’s growing up!
