Princess Astrid of Norway, 94, has been rushed to hospital mere hours after attending a public event.
The sister of King Harald was reportedly taken to the emergency department at the National Hospital in Osla by ambulance, according to Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.

Hours prior, Princess Astrid was a guest of honour at the 100th anniversary of the Blindern and Vinderen sanitary association where she has served as a patron since 1954. For decades, she’s worked with the organisation to “improve women’s health and living conditions.”
The royal palace has not commented on the reports.
It was only March when Astrid was most recently sent to the National Hospital after falling ill with pneumonia, according to reports. Norwegian magazine, Se og Hor, reported that King Harald and Queen Sonja were spotted visiting the royal at the hospital amid her recovery.
The finer details of Astrid’s condition was not revealed during this bout. However, Guri Varpe, the royal palace’s communication director, released a statement which read: “Princess Astrid needs rest and convalescence after a short illness.”

In 2022, Princess Astrid began using a wheelchair, feeling that she could contribute to her charities in a more meaningful way.
“I sit in a chair and stuff, but it’s my legs that fail and not so much my head, so I remember things,’ she said, ‘and I can be involved with things,” she told NRK at the time. “I can still be useful for something.”
