Queen Mary and King Frederik’s first state banquet of 2026 was in Estonia, hosted by President Alar Karis and First Lady Sirje Karis.
Held at St Nicholas Church in Tallinn, Queen Mary donned the stunning tiara she first wore on her wedding day in 2004. The diamond tiara was a wedding gift from her in-laws, Queen Margrethe and the late Prince Henrik.
Queen Mary also wore the Order of King Frederik X and the Order of Terra Mariana, paired with a midnight blue dress she previously wore in 2015 for the New Year’s reception for the Diplomatic Corps.
The couple were welcomed to the country with an official ceremony at Town Hall Square, then laid a wreath at the War of Independence monument. During the two-day visit, they also visited the Victims of Communism memorial, Rakett69 Science Studios, and met with Estonia’s Prime Minister Kristen Michael and the Speaker of the Estonian Parliament Lauri Hussar.
