From Marilyn Monroe to Angelina Jolie.

The Golden Globe Awards are where the worlds of television and film collide for one, incredible awards show. Because of this, the Golden Globes red carpet is one of the most hotly anticipated events of the awards season.

Each year, Hollywood’s best and brightest descend upon the red carpet, donning the hottest couture. Let’s take a look back at all of the greatest looks from the Golden Globes red carpet from Marilyn Monroe to Angelina Jolie.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe dazzled at the 1962 Golden Globes in a floor-length sequined gown where she was awarded the Henrietta Award for World Film Favourite. Despite being forever cemented into Hollywood iconicity, the 1962 Golden Globe Awards was one of the few times Marilyn’s work as an actress was recognised officially.

For the occasion, Marilyn donned an emerald green dress by the little-known designer Norman Norell who also designed the dress she wore to her 1956 wedding with Arthur Miller.

Cher is one of the few artists to have achieved the feat of snagging an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award as well as three Golden Globe Awards. Here she is at the 1973 awards with then-husband Sonny Bono wearing a silk skirt and matching top as well as a fur coat.
