Trailblazer Award

Sarah Snook

Her Succession co-star Brian Cox presented the Trailblazer Award to Sarah Snook.

“She is the real deal; the absolute real deal. She’s extraordinary…She’s one of the best screen partners I’ve ever had; if not the best,” he said of the Australian actress.

In her acceptance speech, Sarah said it was an “incredible honour” and thanked all the people who came before her and blazed the trail for her. She also made a special thanks to her husband David calling him “A wonderful pair of gumboots.”

Julilan passed away in 2025, The Surfer was his last role.

Richard wasn’t there to accept, so Peter, the person who Richard is protraying in the film accepted on his behalf!

Peter dediciated the award to the journalists who have put their lives on the line, and indeed lost their lives, for the truth.

The Byron Kennedy Award honours “outstanding creative enterprise within the film and television industries”. This year the award goes to Kristina Ceyton and Samantha Jennings who have been globally recognised for their work.

This award celebrates emerging Australian talent and is funded by Nicole Kidman.
