It’s a rite of passage these days for celebrities to participate in Vogue’s ‘73 questions’ series, and the latest celeb to do so is none other than Gwyneth Paltrow.
The actress took part specifically to celebrate 15 years since the launch of her wellness and lifestyle brand Goop, and naturally – as the brand has a huge cooking and recipe section on its site – Gwyneth talked about food.
First, the 51-year-old spoke at length about all the fresh fruit and vegetables growing in her garden and how she uses the produce in “salads with delicious proteins.” Gwyneth also added that she loves “cooking from the land.”

But Gwyn was then asked, “What’s a recipe you’ve gotten asked about more than any other recipe?” And she replied, “My boyfriend breakfasts.”
Trust us, you’re not alone if you’re suddenly wondering, ‘What on earth is a boyfriend breakfast?’
But guess what – this isn’t the first time Gwyneth’s mentioned the term ‘boyfriend breakfast’.
In October 2022, Gwyn took to Instagram to reveal that when she and her now-husband Brad Falchuk were dating, she would cook for him on Saturdays.

“When Brad was just my boyfriend, I started a tradition of making him breakfast every Saturday morning,” Gwyneth wrote.
“Coming up with surprising menus, the prepping and cooking was a way for me to disconnect with the other stresses of my life and direct my focus on my boyfriend! It became this very special moment for us. They are called #boyfriend breakfasts to this day.”
Shortly after sharing this Instagram post, Gwyneth penned a lengthy article for Goop discussing whether it was anti-feminist to cook for your partner.
She reasoned that, for her at least, “It’s not anti-feminist to serve; it’s an act of service that’s about seeing the other person and understanding their needs. It brings a particular energy and intimacy to a relationship.”

Gwyneth also referenced her ‘boyfriend breakfasts’ in the piece, calling them a “sacred tradition,” before listing some of the exact recipes she uses for BBs:
- The Boyfriend Breakfast Hash (a hash brown dish topped with sausage, poached eggs and veggies)
- Open-Faced Crab Omelette
- Paleo Eggs Bennie [Benedict]
- Spinach, Potato, Bacon and Caramelised Onion Frittata
We don’t know about you, but they all sound delicious to us; we’d happily receive a ‘boyfriend breakfast’ from Gwyneth on a Saturday morning…
