It’s the day after the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards, where the entertainment journalists finally step away from the screen, celebrities who graced the red carpet have removed their elaborate gowns and winners are searching for somewhere to put their shiny new award.
Some of these celebrities even continued celebrating well into the night at the after-parties!
The 78th ceremony included some epic Emmys moments that will go down in the history book. While others… will be kept at the back of the library, collecting dust.
If you don’t have a subscription to view Binge, where the 2026 Emmys were being streamed, look no further. The Weekly has listed all the best Emmy moments below.
“Zip it”
This year’s ceremony was hosted by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress, Mariska Hargitay. After shouting out some of the incredible talent in the room, like Martin Short, Dick Wolf, Mariska began an epic monologue to finish her speech. That’s when we heard a familiar Australian accent: Nicole Kidman.
“No matter how we watch, and even though we’re worlds apart, we’re all still holding a bit of that communal light,” Mariska said. “And at the end of the day, we come to TV for magic, to laugh, to cry, to care because we need that, all of us — that indescribable feeling that we get when the lights begin to dim, dazzling images on the silver screen. So that I can feel—”
Nicole then interrupted, “No, Mariska, come on! That’s mine. That’s my bit. You can’t do that.”
The “bit” Nicole was talking about was her beloved AMC Theatres ad which released way back in 2021. “That is actually my line!” the 59-year-old added.
“Zip it, movie lady. It’s TV’s turn tonight,” Mariska quipped.
Double Standing Ovation
Michael J. Fox is a man that many are impressed by, whether it be for career or for his activism.
So when the 65-year-old was awarded the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the 2026 Emmys for his work raising awareness for those living with Parkinson’s disease, he received a rare double standing ovation.

As he took to the stage, the audience immediately rose to their feet and applauded the Back to the Future star.
In his acceptance speech, he thanked his wife of three decades, Tracy Pollan, and their four adult children: Sam, Aquinnah, Schuyler and Esme, for their “sacrifices, for their patience, and for their love.” Then, Michael reflected on the early days following his Parkinson’s diagnosis.
“Initially, I kept my Parkinson’s diagnosis a secret,” he said. “I worried that it would affect my work and my relationships with audiences. Would they laugh if they knew I was sick?”
“All of you are so uplifting and just made me feel like I could keep doing this…. and it’s because you stood up for me.”
Concluding his speech, the applause roared once more and they rose a second time.
Jean’s Making History
Talk about making Emmy history! Jean Smart has now taken home eight Emmys after winning Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Hacks. But that’s not why she is making history.
Jean, 75, has become the first woman to take home Emmys for every season of a show. Hacks released its fifth season in April 2026.

A Sex and the City reunion
If there was one show that I could consume until the end of time, it would be Sex and the City. So naturally, I had a fan girl moment when Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbs — or Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon if you want to use their real names — took a picture at the Emmys.
Cynthia’s TV show, The Gilded Age, where she stars as Ada Brook, was among the shows represented at the ceremony.

A Dinner Invite
Considering Marcello Hernández only shot to fame these last few years after breaking out on Saturday Night Live, we completely understand why he took two minutes to schmooze some of his favourite celebrities in the crowd.
Admittedly, Harrison Ford didn’t look too impressed that he, once again, was getting a shout out — but the grumpy persona is always part of his bit. Meanwhile, Zendaya was loving every second!

“You’re a beast, and you’re amazing,” he began. “I saw you, and I wanted to play it cool. And I’ve decided I can’t do that. So, I would like to invite you and Spider-Man to have dinner at my house.”
Zendaya is a highly accomplished and young actress known for Dune, Euphoria, The Odyssey, and of course, Spider-Man where she met her partner, Tom Holland. Rumours continue to swirl on whether she and Tom, aka Spider-Man, have tied the knot — and her stylist, Law Roach, loves to tease fans about it.
