“I’ve always wanted a relationship”: Meet FWAWs charming and shy farmer, Zac

He speaks with The Weekly about his upcoming journey.

One of the youngest farmers to join the 2026 season of Farmer Wants A Wife Australia is the energetic, outgoing and sometimes shy, Zac.

When Zac spoke to The Weekly, apple picking season just wrapped up. Having been on the farm since he was a child, Zac can still remember the days when he was five years old, helping his parents.

“I remember when I couldn’t even hold a picking bag,” he recalled. “Watching how dedicated dad was to the orchard, and how proud he was of the direction that the orchard was going: seeing it thrive every season, how hard dad worked for it and the outcome that we got is pretty special.

“Now, he’s pretty rundown, it’s actually inspirational.

“I go into the city, and the city’s fine, but growing up around here… I wouldn’t want to change it.”

With his family so engraved in the country, Zac’s parents were in disbelief that he would be searching for love on the farm. The responsibility of the farm will continue to Zac, having been passed down generations since his grandfather purchased the land.

Hopefully, once this FWAW rollercoaster ends, Zac can bring a confident, outgoing, and laid-back girl to join him permanently.

“I’ve always wanted a relationship – even at 16! People asked ‘Are you sure you want a long-term relationship?’,” he confessed. Thankfully, his friend was acting in Zac’s best interest when he submitted the FWAW application on his behalf.

But as FWAW goes, he didn’t have just one lady on his farm, but multiple.

“I don’t think there’s really any way you can prepare for that,” he laughed. “I’m a very nervous person around ladies, so that was my biggest worry.”

“I’ve always, always been very open and honest with communication – that’s what I always like in a relationship, but that’s a little bit different on camera! I get stuck talking too much, I get it from my mum.”

While his charming and chatty nature makes for the perfect Farmer, it can’t save him from trouble. Channel Seven has teased the “calculated” and “confident” Miranda, who will take Zac – and his ladies – out of their comfort zone.

Farmer Wants A Wife premieres on June 8 on Channel Seven.
