The crowds at Wimbledon gave Catherine, Princess of Wales, a resounding applause as she entered Centre Court for the Women’s Singles Final in July 2025.
Her return to Wimbledon comes a year after she attended with her daughter, Princess Charlotte. It was the second time she had been seen in public in 2024 following Trooping the Colour in June 2024, due to her cancer diagnosis. As the club patron, she traditionally presents trophies at finals. However, she missed last year’s women’s final due to treatment.
There was speculation that she would not attend after she recently dropped out of this year’s Royal Ascot. However, the Princess of Wales has made a triumphant return to public duties. Recently attended a royal banquet to celebrate the French state visit to Great Britain.
Princess Catherine completed chemotherapy in September 2024 and entered remission by January 2025. She has described her post-treatment journey as a “rollercoaster” in terms of adapting to a “new normal”.
Princess Catherine has been a fixture at Wimbledon each year, presenting the singles finals champions with their trophies.
To welcome her back to Wimbledon, we take a look back at her most memorable appearances over the years.
