Nothing compares to the five-day social spectacle that is Royal Ascot, and 2025 is no different.
It truly is the annual event of the season as Britain’s finest in racing, hospitality, and style put only their best on display for a single week in June.
For the royal family, Royal Ascot follows some of the largest public-facing events of the year, including Trooping the Colour and the Order of the Garter.
What is Royal Ascot?
Ascot Racecourse was first founded by Queen Anne in 1711, who adored riding. With many Kings and Queens having stock in racehorses, it was only fitting that in 1911, the Ascot summer race meeting became a dedicated week to royal racing.
Of course, the most eagerly anticipated attendees are the Royal family. However, after a difficult year for His Majesty King Charles and Princess Catherine, the number of family members who would be present was heavily speculated.
What are the dates for Royal Ascot 2025?
This year, Royal Ascot runs from June 17-21, 2025.
There are a few standout race days, including the King George V Stakes, Diamond Jubilee Stakes, Windsor Castle Stakes and the Gold Cup. The third day of the event has also fondly been coined “Ladies Day”.
Which royals are attending Royal Ascot 2025?
Historically, every day of Royal Ascot is attended by members of the Royal family. This year is shaping up to be no different, with a huge display of attendance by royals already on day one.
However, unexpectedly, Princess Catherine cancelled her attendance.
