Princess Catherine — also known as Kate Middleton — is renowned for her fashion sense.
Thanks to a wardrobe filled with beautiful gowns, chic dresses, smart pantsuits and tasteful blouses, the Princess of Wales always looks perfectly preppy and polished; no matter the occasion.
Therefore, it’s understandable that fashionistas were desperate for Catherine to make her first public appearance in 2024.
Well, that moment finally came in June, at this year’s Trooping the Colour.
After taking the first half of the year off from royal duties due to abdominal surgery as well as preventative chemotherapy, Catherine emerged looking positively elegant.
And it looks like she’s not stopping there as she slowly but surely returns to public engagements…
Read on for all of Catherine’s best fashion moments of 2024.

Burgundy is the new black
Princess Catherine showed off a seriously chic ensemble on December 3, 2024, while greeting the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani.
The Princess of Wales wore a burgundy coat by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and a matching hat by Sahar Millinery. She also sported burgundy boots and gloves.
Catherine finished her look with her Bahrain pearl drop earrings, her Japanese pearl choker necklace (all of which originally belonged to Queen Elizabeth), and a burgundy Chanel purse. It looks like burgundy is the new black!

Princess Catherine’s elegant attire at The Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday
On November 10, the Princess of Wales attended a Remembrance Sunday service at The Cenotaph war memorial.
She looked extremely elegant in a Catherine Walker & Co coat dress that featured a velvet bow at the neckline.
Catherine accessorised her look with the Bahrain pearl pendant earrings, previously owned by the late Queen Elizabeth, the 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards Brooch, and a fascinator hat.

Simple yet refined dress at the Royal Albert Hall
Princess Catherine — along with Prince William, King Charles and Princess Anne — attended the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on November 9.
The Princess of Wales opted for a black coat dress, black heels, and a quilted Chanel clutch. She also wore the Collingwood pearl earrings that previously belonged to the late Princess Diana.

Princess Catherine embraces symbolic style
On October 10, Princess Catherine joined her husband Prince William to privately meet the grieving families, first responders, and members of the local community affected by the mass stabbing attack that took place in July of this year at a Taylor Swift-themed yoga and dance class. Tragically, three young girls were killed during the attack.
The meeting marked the Princess of Wales’ first public engagement since she announced that she had completed chemotherapy, and we have to say Kate put her best fashion foot forward for the poignant meeting.
The princess opted for a longline, chocolate brown Alexander McQueen coat and a burgundy polka dot dress which featured a pussy bow neckline. In a beautiful symbolic gesture, Catherine also wore her Catherine Zoraida Gold Fern Drop Earrings — ferns are a symbol of endurance, resilience and new beginnings — due to their ability to flourish in diverse conditions.

A stunning burgundy suit at Windsor Castle
On October 2, Princess Catherine joined Prince William at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. Following the service, she and Wills met with 16-year-old Liz Hatton — an aspiring photographer who has sadly been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Taking to Instagram to share the following images from the meeting, Catherine and William wrote, “A pleasure to meet with Liz at Windsor today. A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength have inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us.”
For the occasion, Catherine wore an incredibly stylish burgundy suit which she paired with a beige top and gold earrings.

Purple and gold at Wimbledon
As part of her role as royal patron, Princess Catherine attended the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final on July 14. For the occasion, she wore a stunning purple Safiyaa midi dress.
The Princess of Wales accessorised the dress with chunky gold hoop earrings, a selection of gold bangles, a tan leather handbag from L.K. Bennett and tan slingback heels from Camilla Elphick.

Monochromatic sophistication for Trooping the Colour
On June 15, 2024, Princess Catherine attended Trooping the Colour wearing a white Jenny Packham dress which featured black trim around the waist and a ribbon embellishment on the neckline. She completed the look with a matching Philip Treacy hat, pearl earrings, the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch, a black clutch and white stilettos.
If you think the dress looks familiar, you’re right. Catherine last wore this dress on the eve of King Charles’ coronation. However, it has been altered since then — it now has a new neckline and different detailing around the waist.
