If you’ve ever pulled on a pair of underwear that technically “fits” but somehow doesn’t, you’re not alone. For women in plus sizes, that feeling has been the norm for too long – limited styles, uninspired colours and proportions that were clearly never designed with their bodies in mind.

Aussie sustainable brand Boody is hoping to change that. Known for its ultra-soft bamboo basics, the label has built a loyal following for everyday essentials made from viscose derived from organically grown bamboo – fabrics designed to feel breathable, smooth and comfortable enough for all-day wear.

Its new Yours range – spanning XS to 4XL across 39 core pieces – is the result of two years of behind-the-scenes development that started with a simple decision: to design with its community, not just for them.

“We first began exploring extending our size range back in 2022, as part of our mission to champion a future fit for all,” says Maddy, Boody’s product developer. “We’d heard from our community that options felt limited – not enough styles, not enough colours, and fits that just didn’t feel quite right. We knew we could do better.”

Designed with real women

Rather than simply scaling up existing styles, Boody invited real customers into the design process – women who tried on pieces, gave frank feedback and helped shape everything from proportions to colour palettes. The brand even introduced Krystal, a custom-built 2XL mannequin, so fit decisions could be made from the very first stitch.

“That feedback changed everything,” Maddy says. “It informed new fits, new proportions… months later, we brought our community back to try every piece again – fitting, wear-testing and refining until it felt right.”

The Boody plus size underwear range also takes aim at a persistent industry assumption. “This range is about more than sizing. It’s about removing outdated assumptions – that a larger body only wants full coverage, or fewer choices. Every body deserves underwear that feels comfortable, considered and genuinely good to wear.”

How to find your perfect fit

Shopping the range online is easier too, thanks to a new Model Toggle on the Boody website that lets you browse across Small, Mid and Plus size groupings – because seeing yourself in what you’re buying actually matters.

There’s also a detailed size guide and bra chart, so you can shop confidently and choose styles that offer the right support and comfort.
