Belle Gibson is an Australian woman who gained fame in the 2010s as a wellness influencer. She claimed to have cured her terminal brain cancer through natural therapies and a healthy lifestyle.
She built a substantial following on social media and released a successful app and book. Both were named The Whole Pantry.
However, in 2015, it was revealed that Belle had fabricated her cancer diagnosis as well as other health claims.
And in 2017, the Federal Court found her guilty of misleading and deceptive conduct. Belle was subsequently fined $410,000.
