Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon are considered Australia’s golden couple (after Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, of course).
Cody, the popstar turned professional swimmer, first met Emma, the most decorated Australian in Olympic history, in early 2022 when Cody joined the Australian Swim Team after qualifying for the Commonwealth Games.
The couple then began dating in April 2022. However, they didn’t make their relationship public until July 5 of that year, when Cody posted a few images of a trip he and Emma took along with the caption:
“A brief rendezvous in Barcelona with my love. @emmamckeon.”
A few weeks later, Emma posted an image on Instagram of her and Cody holding hands.
Then in July 2022, both Cody and Emma did a joint interview for Channel 7’s Spotlight, where they discussed their respective swimming careers.
After that, the couple kept their relationship extremely private; although in December 2023, Cody did tell the Herald Sun:
“Emma is a huge part of my life, and has been such a positive influence on me in terms of keeping me grounded since we met. She is a really calming presence, she has really helped me, and she just impresses me so much, she is such a wonderful person.”

Shortly after Emma announced her retirement from competitive swimming on November 26, 2024, Cody took to his Instagram story to show his support for his girlfriend.
“The end of a chapter for a remarkable athlete and an even more remarkable woman,” he wrote.

On August 20, 2024, Cody and Emma shared an adorable joint post on social media.
The pair shared a photo of themselves, looking very much in love, along with the incredibly sweet caption:
“If this is just the beginning, my life is gonna be beautiful!”

On August 14, 2024, Cody penned a heartfelt tribute to Emma on Instagram in honour of her returning from the Paris Olympics as the most decorated Australian in Olympic history.
“Golden girl. Emma, to have had a seat to watch you compete and complete your Olympic career with such grace and power was a privilege,” Cody wrote.
“You inspire me immensely and it’s an honour to be your man! I’m punching and I know it so I’m glad you haven’t figured that out yet!”

After Emma won gold in the Women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay Final at the 2024 Paris Olympics, she rushed over to hug Cody.
