The Married At First Sight Australia 2026 couple those of us at The Weekly have all been waiting for, Rebecca and Steve.
The bride with a laugh that lights up the room is Rebecca, a 51-year-old leasing manager from Victoria. Her top priority has always been her son Austin, now 19, following her divorce from his father when he was just 2 years old.
“I do have regrets. I always thought – now I’m going to start crying – that I was going to have that white picket fence; I wanted that for my son,” she admitted tearfully. “I felt like a complete failure.”
Rebecca unfortunately had no luck with dating apps, finding it difficult to move past weird photos and prompts. But now, she is putting her faith in the MAFS relationship experts in 2026 to find her a confident man who loves the finer things in life.
The biggest deal-breaker for her ideal partner was no children. Thankfully, the experts delivered.
Rebecca has been paired with Steve, a 50-year-old creative director from Victoria. This “silver fox” has four daughters ranging from 7 to 18 years old from his previous marriage.
In the past, his biggest relationship mistake was selfishness, admitting he has put his wants and needs above his partners.
But he’s now ready to find someone to explore the next stage of his life with. Steve hopes to find a sociable woman who enjoys going out and the simple luxuries in life.
Rebecca and Steve are the perfect match on paper, but the MAFS experiment will test all their boundaries. And basking in the wedding bliss, Steve and Rebecca were absolutely smitten with one another.
“Rebecca, you would know her from her laugh. Definitely something that stands out. I’m not sure if it’s a normal, traditional laugh. It’s louder than I’m used to, that’s for sure! It could stop traffic,” Steve said, before adding, “She’s [got] a beautiful heart, soul.”
After a peaceful wedding, the pair jet-setted off to the Whitsunday’s for their honeymoon where the laughter and joy continued.
“I can’t honestly believe how happy I am. I have given up so much to be here, but I think he’s actually the perfect match for me,” Rebecca gushed.
