If there’s one young actress to keep an eye on, it’s Milly Alcock.
The 26-year-old grew up in Sydney, Australia, and briefly attended Newtown High School of the Performing Arts before dropping out to pursue acting full-time. It was a risky move, but one that paid off.
In the few short years she’s been acting, Milly has already been nominated for an AACTA Award, a Logie Award, and a Critics’ Choice Television Award.
Now, Milly has entered the DC universe with her role in upcoming film, Supergirl, taking up, up and away! When the Sydney-born actor landed the role, she immediately felt a sense of guilt.
“I didn’t think I could handle it. I didn’t feel deserving, I felt guilty about it, and I felt scared,” Milly confessed to Stylist Magazine.
Milly has already made a debut as the Supergirl character, making a short appearance in the 2025 iteration of Superman.
At CinemaCon 2026, the director revealed that her training for the role was extensive. It involved learning five alien languages (she already has Game of Thrones‘ Dothraki under her belt) and training for an hour a day.
Supergirl will release in cinemas on June 26, 2026.
This is only one of the roles that makes us think Milly will soon join the likes of Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, and Hugh Jackman – you know, super famous Australian actors who have taken over Hollywood with their undeniable talent.

Milly is best known for her portrayal of young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in the fantasy series House of the Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones.
She was just 21 years old when she began filming House of the Dragon. In the series, she portrays Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in her teen years.
However, a significant time jump occurs midway through Season 1 of House of the Dragon where Emma D’Arcy takes over the role to play the adult Rhaenyra.

Sirens
Sirens follows sisters Devon and Simone DeWitt. During one lavish weekend in the Hamptons, Devon grows increasingly concerned for Simone, who is working for the dangerous and captivating billionaire Michaela Kell. Milly plays Simone in Sirens, opposite White Lotus star Meghann Fahy and Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore.

Reckoning
This psychological thriller explores the darkest corners of the male psyche through the eyes of two fathers – one a detective, the other a serial killer. Milly plays the teenage daughter of the detective.

A Place to Call Home
Admittedly, Milly only appears in a few episodes of period drama A Place to Call Home. She plays Emma Carvolth in the sixth and final season. But the whole show – which stars Marta Dusseldorp and Noni Hazlehurst, and is like an Aussie version of Downton Abbey – is a must-watch.
