Are White Lotus‘ first and second seasons connected?

Yes, seasons one and two are connected, but only loosely.

Both have the same premise: a group of wealthy guests arrive at a luxurious ‘White Lotus’ resort, and throughout their stay, tensions rise, secrets unravel, and someone ends up dead.

However, the seasons feature entirely different locations: Season 1 is set in Hawaii and Season 2 is set in Sicily.

The main connection between the two seasons is Tanya McQuoid-Hunt — played by Jennifer Coolidge.

In the first season, Tanya’s in Hawaii to scatter her mother’s ashes. Whereas, in Season 2, she’s travelling with her new husband.

Ultimately, Tanya’s storyline continues in the second season. However, it’s not essential to have seen the first season to enjoy the second. Both seasons work independently.
