After 20 years of romantic red carpet moments and PDA, fans were shocked to discover Australia’s it couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed their divorce.
Their divorce, filed due to “irreconcilable differences” as per E! News, was finalised in January 2026 but reportedly filed in September 2025.
During the loud public chatter involving their relationship, both Nicole and Keith remained graceful. An example of this was when Nicole celebrated her 59th birthday on June 20, 2026, and Keith shared a simple message on Instagram: “happy birthday nicole mary!!!!!!”
Nicole reciprocated these warm intentions a few days later when the U.S. celebrated Father’s Day. She shared black and white images of her two daughters with Keith, alongside a flashback image of herself with her dad with the caption, “Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers.”
Neither pair have made direct comments on their relationship breakdown, but Nicole has previously reflected on her well-being.
“I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” Nicole told Variety after being asked if she was “doing all right.”
“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
After meeting in 2005, Nicole welcomed two daughters with Keith: Sunday Rose, and Faith Margaret. However, Nicole has four children total with two additional children with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Despite Nicole’s “quiet” year in 2025, feeling that she was “in my shell,” she has been booked and busy in 2026. The 58-year-old has countless projects on the go, including multiple interviews where fans anxiously wait to see if she’ll reveal more about her divorce.
Gracefully, Nicole has kept the details to a minimum.
Her first interview after rumours spread was with Vogue, where she merely discussed online scrutiny and being in her 50s – which fans read in between the lines.
“Literally walk away from it,” she said. “It will destroy you.”
“How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?”
Later, Nicole sat down for a discussion with Wicked’s Ariana Grande for Interview Magazine, when the Australian actress was asked how she was doing. To which she replied, “I’m hanging in there.”
After Nicole and Keith’s divorce was finalised, People reported the couple agreed to waive all child and spousal support rights, as per obtained court documents.
People further claimed that Nicole and Keith are required to “behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced.”
“They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent. They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.”
Nicole was granted primary custody of their daughters, allegedly 306 days of the year. While Keith was granted 59 days.
While Nicole Kidman has been keeping busy with her ongoing projects, award shows, and appearances, Keith Urban hasn’t been making too many public appearances. However, his major one was attending the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards in Las Vegas. However, he released his latest album, Flow State. It’s an album of yacht rock covers.
“This album is intended to bring escapism…to help you look up and see a blue sky. play it at the beach, on the boat (of course), at the backyard barbecue with your family & friends…wherever and whenever you need a moment to exhale.”
“It’s the first time I’ve done an album of covers,” he said in an interview with Country Central about the album. “There is one original on the record. It’s a thematic record…yacht rock songs. You think I’m kidding? I’m not kidding.”
