Nicole Kidman says she’s “hanging in there” following divorce from Keith Urban

They have been married since 2006.

After almost 20 years of marriage, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce has reportedly finalised as of January 2026.

People reported the pair reached a settlement three months after Nicole officially filed for divorce. As per court documents obtained by the publication, the couple have agreed to waive all child and spousal support rights, additionally, each person is responsible for their own legal fees.

People further claimed that Nicole and Keith are required to “behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced.”

“They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent. They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.”

Nicole allegedly has their children, Faith and Sunday 306 days of the year. While Keith was granted 59 days.

Rumours of their split came after a report from TMZ in September 2025, with a source confirming the breakup to People.

“Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another,” a source told People at the time.

The source further suggested Keith initiated the breakup as the source added, “she didn’t want this.”

“She has been fighting to save the marriage,” they concluded.

The day after news of their reported split had spread, E! News reportedly obtained Nicole’s petition for divorce just one day after it was filed.

“Neither party shall pay any amount and/or form of alimony or spousal support to the other,” the filing stated according to the publication. “All alimony and spousal support claims are hereby forever waived by the parties.”

“Each party is awarded his or her own clothing, jewellery and personal items, free and clear of any and all claims of the other party.”

E! News further claimed the divorce was due to “irreconcilable differences” as cited in the petition.

Fans watched Nicole closely in October, when she made her first public appearance since the news broke. The actress attended amFAR’s Dallas auction, which was raising funds to support AIDS research.

At the event, she presented her Lioness collaborator, Taylor Sheridan, with the Award of Inspiration, praising Taylor as she said, “We are better when we look after each other.”

Shortly after, Nicole’s first interview since the divorce was published in Vogue. While the actress did not address the rumours, given the chat was prior to the news breaking, but she did talk about online scrutiny.

“Literally walk away from it,” she said. “It will destroy you.”

When asked how Nicole felt now, in her 50s, the actress said: “How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?”

Nicole has given fans a deeper look inside her mental state in a new article about Wicked’s Ariana Grande for Interview Magazine, which Nicole was credited for.

When Ariana asked how Nicole was, the actress simply said, “I’m hanging in there.”

Fellow Australian actress and reportedly close friend to the couple, Isla Fisher, was recently asked about her reaction to their split on the  Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade podcast.

“I’m really, really, really shocked. I have left a message and have not connected yet,” Isla said, choosing her words carefully. ”I don’t really want to comment on that, because there are children involved.”

Keith and Nicole first met in January 2005 at the G’Day LA Gala, and married shortly after in June 2006.

During their 19 years of marriage, Nicole, 58, and Keith, 57, welcomed two daughters together.

Their eldest together is Sunday Rose, who is starting a career in modelling. Their youngest is Faith Margaret.

However, Nicole has four children in total. Prior to her marriage with Keith, she welcomed daughter Bella and adopted son Connor with ex-husband Tom Cruise. Nicole and Tom divorced in 2001.

In the petition, Nicole has asked to be the “primary presidential parent,” according to E! News.
