Landscape Week is arguably one of the most influential spaces on The Block 2025, ultimately making or breaking the homes.
A backyard space alone can impact the buyers decision on whether they want to purchase a home or ignore it, and the contestants were certainly feeling the pressure this week.
All stops were pulled out by the teams, installing luxury pools, fireplaces, saunas and anything else they could get their hands on.
Joining the judges this week was award-winning landscape and pool designer, Dave Franklin.
Plus, after weeks of holding onto a secret gnome, Emma and Ben finally used their extra point. It’s safe to say that everyone’s jaws were on the floor when Ben revealed the gnome.
“You lied to my face!” Alicia jokingly said.
“Game on moles,” Ben said to the group, quoting Mat.

Emma & Ben

Emma and Ben won by half a point!
It was a difficult week for the pair, but it was all worth it for this grand reveal. The judges were also incredibly impressed with the deck, noting how it overlooked the landscaping and how it would become a great spot for family photos.
The judges also loved the fire put, native plants, and the “strategic” wine cellar.
House 1 spent $19,375 and scored 38.5 points (including their one point with the secret gnome.)
Han & Can

The Japanese Zen garden stunted the judges, with Marty noting the rocks and pavers that give the backyard a harsh feel. However, Dave explained the plants will grow and soften the appearance before auction.
Unfortunately, the judges didn’t understand why the pool needed checker tiles which only clashed with the pavers.
House 2 spent $9, 753, easily winning the Commbank $10,000 budget award, and scored 31.5 points
Britt & Taz

The wellness house is coming to fruition! There was a lot of love for the backyard, particularly the umbrella’s which provided a bit of shade.
Some highlights included the greenhouse, chicken coup, and the fireplace.
The judges did debate the outdoor creek, but Shaynna, who has nothing but love for House 3, argued kids would love to play in the space.
House 3 spent $40,348 and scored 37.5 points.
Sonny & Alicia

Practicality is becoming House 4’s vibe, the perfect home for any family.
Darren described the space as the perfect Australian garden, noting the area for kids to run around, massive outdoor table for entertaining, and the fun arbour.
Inside the cabana, the judges realised it was a great spot to crash! It featured all the necessities for an overnight stay including a pull out couch bed, microwave, and a kitchenette. Perfect for guests or whoever is in the “doghouse.”
Sonny and Alicia spent $18, 551 and scored 36.75 points.
Robby & Mat

Robby and Mat lost this week’s win by just 0.5 points.
It was a tough loss given two prizes from previous challenges were on display: the fireplace and the pickleball court
Marty was slightly concerned by the fireplace’s position as it blocked the pool from the deck. But Darren highlighted the boy had installed a security system which connects to the lounge room TV and mobile phones.
House 5 spent $57, 151 and scored 38 points.
