What happened on The Block?
Episode 49
It is the last room reveal on The Block 2025. Finally, breaking their curse was Sonny and Alicia! The judges had nothing but love for their front yard, particularly the incredible kangaroo sculpture.
The other houses has a few mixed reviews as Dave Franklin returned to provide commentary on the flora.

Episode 48
As the renovation series comes to an end, the contestants are becoming less chaotic and more sentimental. It was Shelley’s final walk around The Block, she reflected a lot on everyone’s experience, but it was all giggles when Britt and Taz revealed their mock garage door.
“That is a statement,” Shelley said. “I actually don’t know what to say.”
House 3 are stunned everyone is actually falling for their trick! One addition that is very serious is the torii gate installed over Han and Can’s driveway.
Their competitors didn’t see the relaxing, peaceful vision the girls are attempting to create. Even Mat said it looked like the entrance to Jurassic Park.
Speaking of show stopping front yard accessories, Alicia is determined to win this final week. Because if not, they’ll become the only team to never win a room on The Block.
Spending every penny they have remaining, Alicia has purchased a huge kangaroo sculpture as their “wow factor.”
Episode 47
In all our years of watching The Block, we have never seen Scotty Cam get so emotional. The group decided to surprise the long-time host with his very own wood-mizer, thanking him for all his support and dedication this season.
“This is the nicest thing that’s ever happened to me in my life,” Scotty said. “That is so unreal. I’ve never been given a gift before.”
Plus, everyone has having a big laugh at Britt and Taz’s garage door! To hide the real artwork, House 3 has covered their garage door with a picture of themselves.
“I love myself, but I’m not that indulgent,” Mat said.
Meanwhile, Taz is taking his relationship with Dan to a new level after the police officer called him ‘dad.’ Que the romantic montage of Taz and Dan’s best moments this season!
Onto some less happy news, a difficult conversation needed to be had between House 5 and their landscaper, Paul. Mat was adamant they wouldn’t be paying the extra $29,000 due to unforeseen engineering costs given there was no communication that they were over-budget. However, Paul revealed there was numerous texts messages.
Despite this, Paul wants to complete the job. Given their financial status, Mat and Robby are their newest tradies on site.
Episode 46
Landscaping room reveals are over, but the boys are still a bit salty about the results. Had they won, Robby claimed they would have won the most rooms on The Block! They also threw everything they had into the backyard, costing House 5 a total of $57, 151.
Making matters worse, the landscaper has billed them an outstanding $34,000 for the backyard following a number of unforeseen engineering worth $29,000. Leaving the boys with potentially no money for the front yard…
Arnott’s hosted yet another challenge where the contestants are tasked with building the tallest biscuit tower that must stand for 10 seconds. After a few mini-meltdowns, Emma and Ben were declared the winners once again!
But after another loss, Alicia admitted “the flood gates opened.”
With her mic still on, Alicia could be heard tearing up to Sonny in the caravan, questioning their decision to even join The Block.
Over at House 2, tradie Shan has become a mediator between Han and Can can’t seem to agree on anything lately. To minimise the disputes, Shan has directed Han work on the exterior while Can stays inside to sort out the defects before auction day.
Episode 45
After weeks of hiding and lying about their secret gnome, Emma and Ben have finally used their secret weapon to secure their win during Backyard and Pool Week.
The pair won by just 0.5 points, beating Robby and Mat who weren’t too impressed. However, as House 1 pointed out, the boys once stole a win thanks to their gnome!

Episode 44
Headaches continue at House 2 with the coping tile around the pool edge and their pavers being uneven, which means more time and money for the couple. But in good news, Han’s dad is finally on site!
Britt and Taz are having their own issues. Their outdoor stone fireplace chimney, which was causes them issues before, wasn’t high enough to be compliant. But they’re both furious the issues weren’t picked up when their plans were submitted in Week 3.
Amidst all the chaos, Shelley invites the teams to a baby shower for Emma and Ben, and 2023 winners Steph and Gian. The day even ends with some fun pole dancing lessons from Emma! Mat was a natural, meanwhile, Taz was a little less… graceful.
Episode 43
Han and Can have had their issues, as anyone competing on The Block would, but the pair certainly exploded this episode.
Dan visited House 2 to discuss their cabana but Han, who is leading the project, was in the caravan “freezing,” telling Candice she wasn’t “functioning.”
Inside the cabana, Han is trying to decide whether they render the walls or not, which is worrying Can given the other houses are ahead and have more money. Unfortunately, Han won’t make any decisions until her father arrives the following day.
“I’m not doing what everyone else is doing,” Han told her partner who was freaking out. “I will do what I want to do!”
Meanwhile, Sonny and Alicia are digging for dirt! Alicia asked the fellow contestants if everyone’s sheds were approved, to which Britt and Taz remained silent.
“Omission is just as bad as lying,” Sonny said.
After weeks of facing each and every obstacle with a smile, Emma and Ben’s positive personalities take a hit when it was discovered the concrete paving between the deck and the pool was too steep. Forcing the couple to remove $20,000 of paving…
Robby and Mat, however, are having the time of their lives! Stealing firewood and replicating the iconic boat scene from Titanic.
Episode 42
Communication is key on The Block. Even as we head into the 11th week, it seems Britt and Taz haven’t quite learned this lesson.
House 3 turned half of their shed into a bar during Terrace and Shed Week, a move both the judges and contestants questioned if it was compliant. As it turns out, the room is non-compliant with Site Manager Aiden revealing there was a difference between the approved plans and the final result.
“It’s not a bar. It’s sort of a cellar, without the cellar,” Britt said, arguing it was no different to House 5’s wine cellar. However, Aiden said it was clearly a bar and would need to be redesigned.
Plus, all the contestants watched the first episode of The Block! Most of the contestants were happy with how they were portrayed, excluding Han.
“I just looked like a spoiled brat. That’s how it felt watching it and that’s why I was like, I feel gross about myself, I feel gross about the situation,” she said.
Episode 41
After ten weeks of hearing about Robby and Mat’s wonderful wine cellar, viewers have finally seen the end result. The mysterious wine cellar was the root of a lot of problems for a short while, as contestants began to truly understand that The Block is a competition despite being friends.
It was a huge gamble for the boys, but it has undoubtedly paid off as House 5 scored three perfect ten’s.
Sonny and Alicia weren’t far behind during Terrace and Shed Week on the renovation series, scoring 29 points.
Meanwhile, Han and Can may not have knocked the ball out of the park with their rooms, but they did win $20,000 from CommBank for spending the least amount of money. This may just be the girls saving grace considering they have absolutely no money left…

Episode 40
Contestants have baked their hearts out for the bake off, gathering inspiration from the Arnott’s and The Weekly’s cookbook. The challenge was judged by three incredible women from the Country Women’s Association.
The women all made positive comments about the desserts, but it was the Smashed Tim Tam Cinnamon Scroll from Britt and Taz that was declared the winner. House 3 earned $10,000 but it was a total $30,000 winning week for the police officers after also winning a sustainability prize.
All the teams were disgruntled that Britt and Taz won the sustainability challenge, with Mat labelling them “the most unsustainable house in the street” because of their underfloor heating.
Troubles aside, it was a great episode for the contestants as their loved ones visited. There were a lot of teary faces, but particular parents Britt and Taz, and Sonny and Alicia, and Robby as they embraced their little ones.
House 4 even renewed their vows with their real family and their Block family! Frankie may have gotten a little distracted as he ran down the asile to deliver the rings, but everything was perfect.
“Hopefully he turns up actually. It’s been a turbulent 10 weeks,” Alicia joked.
Episode 39
After arriving from a peaceful night away, Britt and Taz are immediately thrown into a body corporate. Given no one has their deck sub frame built aside from House 3 following their jump start, everyone wants to level the playing field.
While everyone says the move is not personal, Britt and Taz disagree – and so does Emma given she was no where in sight. In the end, Britt and Taz agree to not continue for another day.
“I just wanted to come up and say, I think it was really unfair what everyone did to you guys today. I didn’t agree with any of it,” Emma later tells House 3.
Over at House 2, Can’s dreams of a stream and lagoon for their outdoor area are swiftly killed by the Site Manager.
Plus, another challenge has begun! A bake off challenge work $10,000 is on offer and will be judged by the local Country Women’s Association. The challenge is inspired by Arnott’s The Cookbook, a proud collaboration with yours truly, The Australian Women’s Weekly.

Episode 38
Han and Can missed out on a room win last week by just 0.5 points thanks to Shaynna Blaze scoring Britt and Taz a perfect 10 – despite some imperfections with the final finish. But according to everyone else on The Block, the girls were robbed.
“It’s a unanimous decision from everyone, besides Britt and Taz, that the girls should have won,” Mat said.
Alicia also shared: “I feel like the girls were robbed because Shaynna had an emotional connection to a room that wasn’t finished.”
Meanwhile, Sonny loudly and proudly shared his belief that the girls were robbed in front of House 3!
The opposition against House 3 continued throughout the episode. While Britt and Taz were enjoying their winners dinner, the group were planning a body corporate. Last week Britt and Taz began working on their alfresco early and earned a day penalty. But it wasn’t a disadvantage at all because the other teams couldn’t even start the deck framework thanks to Stratco.
So the group were calling a body corporate to stop Britt and Taz from working on their already built alfresco until the others caught up.
Episode 37
It was a massive week on The Block, but every team has completed all five rooms for reveal night. It was a tight competition, but Britt and Taz won $10,000 just by 0.5 points. Han and Can, who came in second, desperately needed that money…

Episode 36
Sonny spies with his little eye, House 3 getting a jump start on Alfresco Week.
After spotting Britt and Taz’s workers building the sub-frame for the deck, he suggested Foreman Dan to check it out. As a consequence, no work is to be done on the Alfresco on Monday, next week.
“I’m a bit annoyed that Sonny’s picked us up on a technicality,” Taz said.
While a disgruntled Britt added, “We played the game right. We got told that we could do landscaping from Week 1, and now because everyone else hasn’t listened and now they’re going to be behind on landscaping, now they’re trying to penalise us.”
Contestants were then pulled away from their busy schedule for another challenge, featuring some Block Allstars! The challenge required the teams to complete various obstacle courses in order to win points and therefore prize money.
Some of the challenges included running through obstacle courses while attached to their teammate and digging for tools in a sandpit. Han, who happens to be highly competitive and low in money, was on a mission to win the prize.
All was well until they fumbled the last challenge – which was also worth double points… The teams needed to push a wheelbarrow full of water through an obstacle course, then pour the water into a container. House 2 went to the closest bucket, therefore not considering their house number, and poured their water into the wrong container. Meaning Han not only lost her cool, but the competition and prize money.
Sonny and Alicia – who were also celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary – were crowned the winners.
Episode 35
We can’t decide who had a more difficult episode, Han and Can or Robby and Mat.
After hearing about everyone’s ‘game changing’ ideas, Han believed an office space could be their stand out until it was swiftly declined. Plus, the couple failed a lot of inspections with Dan stating they should have kept Ben.
Another body corporate was called to ask for extra hours after four out of five teams were struggling to complete their waterproofing before end of day. Unfortunately, Sonny and Alicia had planned ahead, and extra hours can’t be approved unless everyone agrees.
“Everyone is screwed Sonny, please,” Han pleaded.
Sonny responded: “I haven’t won a room yet, there’s one room left. If four of you don’t finish, I might actually win one.”
Meanwhile, Robby and Mat have to essentially start over. The boys significantly changed their floor plans, but forgot to account for the waste pipes.
House 5 needs to rip up the waterproofing in the laundry, raise the floor level by the entrance to ensure it leads to the drain, pack the back of a wall and extend the side walls to accommodate for the waste pipes underneath the cabinet… Simple!
Episode 34
Just when we thought The Block couldn’t get any harder, the network demands the contestants finish five rooms in one week. The rooms to be completed are the pantry, laundry, powder room, mudroom and garage.
While you would imagine that some teams, particularly those who didn’t finish last week’s two rooms, that they would sacrifice some quality to complete said five rooms. But no. All the contestants are going full steam ahead! Even Han refused to downgrade after being told her grand design for the garage would mean they’d surpass budget by $8,000.
Drama at House 2 continues as ex-tradie Ben reappears to work on a different home, and his relationship with the girls ended on a sour note according to Han.
“The texts that we received [from Ben] after we sent some lovely texts were quite gross actually,” Han said.
While Han refused to show the producers the text messages, Ben certainly didn’t. The tradie felt he “politely” and sternly declined their offer to return to House 2’s job site.
Britt and Taz are getting a head start on landscaping, but it seems they’ve jumped the gun! A snippet of Wednesday night’s episode showed House 3 getting shut down for technically starting their alfresco…
Plus, Robby and Mat are planning to call a body corporate to discuss Emma and Ben’s wine cellar, hoping to “rattle” them.
Episode 33
Every week on The Block is challenging, but Guest Suite week has been the worst by far. Not one, but three teams failed to complete their rooms.
The teams had to tidy and present their homes for the Domain Listing Challenge, but also complete technically two rooms for the Guest Suite. So there were troubles from the very start.
House 3 struggled repeatedly to get their waterproofing inspection approved, and even asked the Cursios from House 4 for help. Despite their issues, Sonny and Alicia decided to be the bigger people and allow them to help former besties Britt and Taz. While hugs and tears went around, it still wasn’t enough to get House 3 back on track.
Only House 1 and House 4 delivered completed rooms. Robby and Mat’s tilers never returned from their footy game, and Han and Can weren’t prepared for to install the marble stone for their make-up station.
For their fabulous room, Emma and Ben took home the win! Plus, they also scored two perfect 10 points which means they took home an extra $30,000.

Episode 32
Another episode, another copycat scandal. It was the Domain Listing Challenge, where the most beloved home would win a staggering $50,000 cash prize. So naturally, all the contestants were pulling out the big stops.
House 5 presented themselves as the only home with an underground cellar. What they didn’t know was that House 1 also had plans for a cellar, and plastered signs everywhere in their home to announce this.
When Robby discovered the news, he waited to inform Mat, who said: “Get your own ideas! You can’t win a thing so you copy our ideas.”
Scandal and shock aside, only one home could win the cash prize. So who won the buyers over? It was soon-to-be parents, Emma and Ben! See below for all the scores.

Episode 31
The body corporate drama continues. But the conversation turns when Sonny brings up the timber debate. Previously, Taz marked all the logs, worth roughly $15,000 in total. While Sonny planned to take some, The Block way is first in best dressed.
Sonny then called House 3 “greedy.” But the argument continued, as Britt suggested they were throwing the weekly challenge to get the $10,000 CommBank prize.
“She was nasty,” Alicia said, who then brought up the fact that her former bestie ditched their planned shopping day.
“Alicia was very upset and that was a really important thing to bring up at a body corporate,” Mat joked. “It was an inappropriate time to bring up something personal.”
After dispersing to work on their houses, they regathered later in the night for a very exciting funeral… the death of that horrifying kids bedhead Robby and Mat designed.
“The short life you did have was horrendous,” Mat said. “It was really hard to say goodbye, but it was even easier to set the b***h on fire.”
Episode 30
The contestants are in for trouble this week, not only will they be renovating the Guest Bedroom and Bathroom but they’ll also be preparing their homes for the Domain Buyers Jury Challenge. During this challenge, the completed rooms so far will be presented to the public and the home that most people would want to purchase will win $50,000.
While everyone is overwhelmed with emotion, puzzling how they complete both tasks, Britt and Taz are in ‘game’ mode. Prior to walking into open inspection, Britt tells her husband, “every Monday is an opportunity for you to go into open inspection and tell the country why they shouldn’t buy House 1, 2, 4, and 5.”
And oh boy, did they dish out some negative comments.
Last week’s winners, Britt and Taz plus Robby and Mat went on a dinner with host Scotty, where he felt like he was “sitting with the winners of The Block.”
A body corporate was also called, after majority of the other houses question how Robby and Mat are funding their underground cellar. Sonny believed the project to cost $150,000. However, the boys clarified it had been a gamble since week one, costing them roughly $44,000 after CRS donated the walls and framework.
Episode 29
It’s not often that every room is worth a win on The Block, but everyone put their best foot forward in Kitchen Week and two teams actually won! Tied for the win were Britt and Taz, and Robby and Mat who both took home $10,000 for their win.
Unfortunately, scoring the lowest with 26 points were Emma and Ben. While the judges loved the colour palette, their only concern was the location of the fridge, which cut off the entrance to the main suite when opened.

Episode 28
In the throws of Kitchen Week, Sonny and Alicia are redoing their Living and Dining rooms, hoping to show the judges that they’ve listened to their feedback.
Everyone is starting to act on Landscaping Week, but Sonny is furious after Taz has ‘greedily’ claimed all the logs. However, the logs have been sitting there for seven weeks and it is “first in best dressed” according to Dan. Sonny is ready to call a body corporate if Taz argues…
Alicia was ’embarrassed’ after she was stood up for her shopping date by bestie Britt.
In the midst of all this drama, Can was happily partaking in a gin tasting!
Episode 27
We’re starting to see cracks in Britt and Alicia’s friendship, as the former goes on a shopping spree with her new BFF Steph and plans on withholding any advice received from the former Block winner. At the end of the day, it is a competition.
However, Britt and Taz had bigger issues with their kitchen benches being different heights – which would be a major no no for the judges. However, strings were pulled and arguments were had, so the couple got their way.
Meanwhile, Sonny and Alicia are the first team to start landscaping and the first to pull the high pages lever, requesting a concreter for their pool area.
It was a quick turn around for The Phoenix at The Rex theatre challenge. Despite being the underdogs, Sonny and Alicia, Robby and Mat, and Han and Can won – much to Steph’s surprise.
Episode 26
Week 7 is underway, and the contestants are moving onto the Kitchen with a mere $10,000 budget… The only team that may have a chance of sticking to budget is Britt and Taz having won $175,000 worth of kitchen appliances back in episode 9.
Meanwhile, it is drama central at Han and Can’s following a decision that “sent shock waves through the whole Block” according to Taz. The girls have decided to fire their builder Ben – despite winning the Rumpus room and scoring a perfect 10 – feeling that he was working too slow, and continue with local builder Shan.
However, this conversation wasn’t recorded. Han claimed she was sick and needed to take off her mic, but contacted Ben during this time – leaving producers very suspicious of what the girls said during this phone call.
The teams also have a new challenge this week, renovating The Phoenix at The Rex theatre. Nine has even called in past winners Steph and Gian! The Blockheads were divided into two groups with different areas. The first group assigned with renovating the candy bar were Emma and Ben, Britt and Taz, and Steph and Gian. The next group tasked with renovating basically everything else were Sonny and Alicia, Robby and Mat, and Han and Can.
Episode 25
The Rumpus rooms have been revealed, and despite facing nothing but issues in the lead up, Han and Can were named the winners. The girls also scored a ten, which means they took home $20,000 cash prize.
Emma and Ben were the “bridesmaids” once again, despite their bold decision to paint the ceiling green to match the walls. While the judges were in love with the room, they had concerns that the second living space was considerably better than the main living room.
A room also beloved by the judges was Sonny and Alicia’s colour drenched space! But Marty was worried the room was “so on trend” that it will “be out of trend as quickly as it’s come in.”
The two remaining houses didn’t receive great feedback…
Britt and Taz made a risky decision to turn the Rumpus room into a wellness space with Reformer’s inside. All agreed the gym should be located in the shed, with Marty pointing out that only having one living space while the other houses have two is a serious disadvantage come auction day.
Robby and Mat’s glorious winning streak has come to an explosive end. The judges weren’t afraid to tear this room to pieces, commenting on the uncompleted floorboards, the tiny desk space, the and the styling options.
“In the week when things don’t go your way, at least you weren’t going to win the room,” Darren said.
However, the boys did win the CommBank $10,000 prize.

Episode 24
After weeks of chewing away at the Hepburn Spa Challenge, the results are in. To judge the completed spa rooms is former judge, Neale Whitaker accompanied by Scotty and Shelley.
Emma and Ben were the “bridesmaids” once again after placing second. Neale adored the room, noting the slab underneath the bath and the brown hues in the grey tiles – which was surprising given he isn’t a fan of grey!
The lack of wins is starting to affect Emma and Ben, as they tear up on the way home.
Placed first were Sonny and Alicia! House 4 put a lot of time and effort into the space in order to win the Caravan home worth $260,000.
Meanwhile, Robby and Mat were shocked they didn’t even rate! But Han and Can jokingly questioned if they placed fourth or fifth… who wants to tell them?
Episode 23
If two tasks weren’t overwhelming for the contestants, they were then pulled away to complete yet another challenge.
Teams were tasked with creating artwork inspired by Daylesford which would then be turned into wallpaper and used in their homes.
Unfortunately, Robby and Mat’s winning streak continued! It was a complete shock to Robby – because Mat escaped to go shopping – as he was initially embarrassed by his artwork. Alicia was a bit salty…
The winning glow swiftly dwindled the next day when their floorboards weren’t laid down. In fact, the boxes containing their Herringbone floorboards were slowly being taken over to House 1.
With only a limited number of boxes, Robby was informed he would have to include a floor breaker – which was absolutely a dead no for the boys…
Meanwhile, after avoiding the spa all day, Han and Can ventured over at 5pm only to discover they’d misheard the 6pm tools down rule. The girls claimed they were told they could work there until “10, if not later.”
“That’s just not fair,” Can said. “It’s already a short week, how are we supposed to get anything done?”
Episode 22
This is week six, which means the contestants have officially hit the halfway mark in the competition. This week’s task is the Rumpus room, plus the Hepburn Spa Challenge.
Sonny, who is usually a positive person, starts to feel the weight of being away from his children, and harsh comments from the judges. Both he and Alicia break down into tears, missing their children. To make matters worse, it is their son Koa’s birthday this week.
She quickly sought comfort in fellow-mum, Britt.
But the heat didn’t stop coming for Sonny and Alicia as copying allegations continued. A tradie working on the pairs room in the Hepburn Spa Challenge has revealed that Han and Can have now installed strip lights in the same location.
Robby and Mat preplanned a dinner with the latter’s wife and bub, when they invited the entire Block-family to come – except Han and Can. While the girls felt excluded, Robby stated he just didn’t want to get sick.
“They weren’t not invited,” Robby said. “They were not allowed to come. They have been extremely unwell, and I don’t want to be in that position.”
Episode 21
Sunday night has arrived, which means fans are watching all three judges critically analyse every minute detail of the Living and Dining room. Speaking of small details, the judges loved Han and Can’s room but the only downfall was the lack of local wines included in their wine cabinet.
Listening to some more difficult feedback was Emma and Ben, and Sonny and Alicia. The judges felt Emma and Ben’s room was bland, and the layout was incorrect.
Meanwhile, the judges felt Sonny and Alicia’s room needed a big redo, highlighting that all the spatial planning was a concern given the living space was 3 metres long which is the space of a small apartment. However, they all loved the exposed brick of the fireplace and the beams.
“They have really, really stuffed this room up,” Marty said.
Britt and Taz received glowing feedback for their room, with Shaynna saying it would have been a 15 out of 10 had the layout been correct. The lovebirds missed out on winning this week by one point, thanks to the gnome the boys, Robby and Mat were holding onto.
The boys Living and Dining room left Marty “speechless.” The only downfall was the incomplete corking and the curtain rails were visible.

Episode 20
It was a big episode for Emma and Ben who received an emotional phone call, confirming they were expecting a baby boy in October 2025.
“We got some pretty big news. We’re having a baby,” a cheerful Emma revealed.
The entire Block family were over the moon by the announcement, particularly Scotty Cam who even suggested the unborn bub be named Scotty…
Robby, however, is starting to feel guilty for “smashing the pickle ball” at pregnant Emma during the last challenge.

Meanwhile, feuds continue between House 4 and House 2, with Han and Can suggesting they would give Sonny and Alicia the caravan if they win the Hepburn Spa challenge. This shock offer has left many on The Block confused, including Scotty and Shelley Craft because if they aren’t guilty of copying, then why are they apologetic?
Episode 19
There are lots of dramas brewing on The Block this week, and we get a taster at the top of this video.
Emma and Ben are celebrating their three-year wedding anniversary. In house 2, Han and Can are still dealing with flooring issues.
The Hi Pages levers are put into action. However, Robby and Matt’s choice for a joiner confirms to Ben that they are building a wine cellar in their hole.
Sonny goes on a “Dan-Date” with Foreman Dan to mine him for information. Dan advises that he check out the other houses to see what their secret weapons are. The next day, he notices the wine cellar hole and that, plus the joinery request, clues him into their secret weapon.
Also tonight, there is a Pickleball challenge at the Daylesford Bowls Club. Robby and Mat take it out, winning $10,000, which they need for their not-so-secret wine cellar and a pickleball court.
We get a check-in on the Helpburn Spa bathhouse room. The spa told the teams that they couldn’t put a heated seat in their rooms as it would impede access to water taps. However, Sonny used his tradeskills and called up the owner and figured out a way to solve the problem.
When Sonny goes to check in on the space, he spots Wyatt, a Hotwire tradie, putting in underfloor heating in another room. He admits that Han and Can saw their thermostat and copied their idea. Alicia was beyond furious because Sonny figured out the problem using his tradie background.
Han denies copying or stealing their idea. However, Can later apologises to Alicia.
Han is so upset, she considers leaving the challenge. Alicia gives them a bit of a lecture to pull themselves together. That night, Alicia, Matt, Han and Can went to dinner and in his words, it was “awkward.” Han offers to give Sonny and Alicia the caravan if they win. Which only makes Sonny and Alicia more suspicious.
In a flashback, we see that the day before Han and Can were at the Hepburn Spa, and Han asked about putting in a heated seat. Can says they missed the boat, but one of the builders shows them Sonny’s work.
Episode 18
This week, the Blockheads are working on their Living and Dining Rooms.
Alicia is taking the feedback from the judges really hard. She’s missing home and her children, and then receiving negative feedback hasn’t been easy to deal with. Likewise, Can is finding it difficult to bounce back from getting the lowest score on the last episode.
It’s week five, and Robby and Matt have still managed to keep their wine cellar hidden. There is a walkthrough today, and the other contestants don’t notice it. Well, except Emma and Ben, who notice it but think it’s for a pool.
The Hi Pages levers are back! Scott was concerned that the Blockheads were behind in their landscaping. But also, budgets are getting pinched.
Britt and Taz head on their Monday night getaway to Ballarat. Arnotts also gifted them a massive toolbox full of biscuits and $10,000 for winning the first perfect 10 on their room reveal.
Also tonight, the crew have the roast road challenge with Reuben Kaye. They head to Her Majesty’s Theatre in Ballarat, and Robby and Matt take out the win. In addition to the glory of winning, they score a $52,995 Trendz outdoor fire and $10,000 in cash.. In the bus ride on the way back, Ben says they can put the outdoor fireplace in the hole at the back of their house, aka their wine cellar hole. But no one else caught on. The next day, Robby and Matt both leave to check out TVs, but when Foreman Dan discovers they both left, he tells them off when they come back.
The builders discover that there’s a hump in Han and Can’s floor. They have to relevel the floor. It’s a setback for Han and Can. Surprisingly, Han takes it on the chin. However, the self-leveller isn’t a solution the site manager likes. Instead, they are going to grid out the hump.
Episode 17
Ben cooks everyone breakfast ahead of the final full day of the bedrooms. Emma also makes some pick-ups and delivers for her neighbours! So if there’s a congeniality prize, they have it in the bag.
Robbby and Matt didn’t have enough textured wallpaper, so they took advantage of a painting course they did during the week to create their own textured paint effect. Their mate built them a bed and transported it from Adelaide to Daylesford. But because their friend hasn’t been certified to work on their site, he can only supervise and not help them assemble the bed.
Unfortunately, Sonny and Alicia bicker. So, Dan comes over with Tim Tams to try and smooth things over. They are missing some of their furniture, and the furniture supplier agreed to drive halfway to them so they can get it in time.
The night before the reveal, most of the contestants are finishing up, but still have plenty to do in the morning (no overnights this season). But by the time it comes to tools down, all the Blockheads are done.
In the end, Han and Can received some very harsh feedback from the judges. Sonny and Alicia didn’t fare much better.
However, Emma and Ben’s room was dubbed “close to perfection”, and they placed second again! But Britt and Taz smashed it this week. They scored 29, received a perfect 10 from Darren (securing them a $10,000 prize from Arnotts), and they won the CommBank budget prize plus the overall room prize! Meaning they walk away with the win and a cool $30,000.

Episode 16
The episode opened with Taz fulfilling the terms of his bet with Dan, and he had to jump into a lake. Sonny goes along for moral support and jumps in first, and when Taz hugs Dan when it’s over, he pulls him in as well!
The contestants have a side quest to design a room each at Hepburn Spa; they have a few weeks to finish it, and if they win, they score a massive prize. So far, they haven’t made any progress, so tonight we saw most of the teams choose tiles and some fittings. Han and Can haven’t made any progress.
Elsewhere, for Han and Can, they didn’t get the TV they wanted for their bedroom. They wanted an art TV, but ordered the wrong one. Han says it’s the production’s “f*ck up” and won’t accept any of Can’s solutions of putting artwork in the TV’s cubby hole like the other teams are doing.
Also tonight, the contestants are treated to a Pilates class with Strong Pilates. The Blockheads work out, and the McCafe crew and Dan join in. Britt skipped the class to get a kickstart on painting, and the spraygun sprayed all over her!
On Friday, Scott and Shelley check in with each of the teams. He has nothing but praise for Em and Ben, who he reckoned should have won last week. He also loves their bathroom and their plans for the bedroom, and says they are the cleanest and most organised team on The Block.
Shelley loves the skylight and double entry at Britt and Taz’s bedroom. Both Scott and Shelley were fans of Sonny and Alicia’s real wood panelling veneer on their walk-in wardrobe. Next, they go to Robby and Matt’s block to check in on the secret cellar, which is much bigger than first planned. Scott and Shelley praised their use of the space by extending the walk-in robe to a dressing room. We’re then treated to a montage of Robby’s leg cramps!
However, things are not going well with Han and Can. Scott had some hard truths to speak to Han about her attitude toward the TV and the joinery debate with Dan. He said that they don’t intentionally “stitch up” contestants. She says it’s been a “miscommunication” but she still feels “hard done by” and it was “unfair”. Later on, Han pulls Scott aside to tell her side of the story and apologises. However, later on, while painting, both Han and Can argue about painting and Han’s attitude.
Britt wins the Bunnings hard worker reward and scores plants from the nursery! Perfect timing, as they haven’t started their landscaping yet.
Episode 15
Robby and Mat’s secret backyard project is finally underway, with their hidden wine cellar starting to take shape — though none of the other teams have caught on yet.
House 3 sees drama as Britt and Taz clash with their plasterer over dodgy insulation. Taz, already worn out, admits he just wants one smooth week.
Han and Can hit a setback when they lose a carpenter, but after a frantic search, they manage to lock in a much-needed replacement.
There’s a touching moment as Mat comforts Robby, who’s missing home and his baby son Brooks, with the boys vowing to keep backing each other through the competition.
The week’s surprise challenge — a clay shoot hosted by Olympic champ Russell Mark — sees Em and Ben score the win.
But tensions rise again when Han goes head-to-head with Foreman Dan over laundry floorplan changes, with neither side backing down.
Episode 14
After their Main Bathroom win, Han and Can skipped the group “family dinner,” choosing to stay in their van. Their week didn’t start smoothly, missing the 7am safety meeting for the third time, shutting down their site for two hours.
This week’s challenge is the Main Bedroom and Walk-in Robe.
Emma and Ben stuck to the architect’s floor plan with a DIY headboard, and despite also waking up late on Tuesday, they scored $5,000 from the McCafe team, who judged their bathroom the best. However, they also faced stone delays and a water leak (which was quickly resolved).
Britt and Taz reworked the layout with a dual robe entry. Dan saw how well Taz was doing with insulation, so he bet that if he finished by 5pm, Dan would jump in the lake. He did everything he could to distract him, but in the end, Taz finished with one small panel to spare
Sonny and Alicia are adding an entry to their en suite from their walk-in robe instead of the hallway. It’s not a layout that the judges liked.
Robby and Matt expanded their walk-in robe to a full dressing room, but clashed with Dan over finances.
The “Golden Girls” (aka the ladies plus Matt) go on a furniture shopping spree, but Can missed the trip after overlooking the email.
However, Han and Can won a getaway with MG to Sky High Retreat in Daylesford for the night. Plus, they had dinner at Sault with Scott Cam. Even more, they also win $10,000 for winning.
While they are away, the rest of the Blockheads enjoy a chump dinner in Scotty’s Sawmill. They find out that Han and Can never called Tom to let him know that they won with his help. As he stepped in when Han was off sick. That doesn’t go down well with the group.
The day ended with a roast dinner at Shaynna Blaze’s home, where cabaret star Reuben Kaye appeared. Scott then revealed the next challenge: roasting each other – and even the judges.
Episode 13
Despite all the panicking about their bathroom designs, Han and Can have won Main Bathroom Week on The Block thanks to their trusty Gnome. We’ve never seen Marty so impressed with a room!
Tied in first place – if it weren’t for the Gnome – were Emma and Ben, who were declared the “ones to watch” this competition.

Episode 12
There are bound to be a few ups and downs on The Block, but there is one curveball that Britt never expected: being thrown up on by her husband, Taz.
Naturally, Taz was the butt of many jokes this episode…
Meanwhile, over at House 4, it certainly wasn’t all jokes as Sonny and Alicia had a big blow-up over the height of horizontal towel racks.
“You make me sound like a b**** all the time,” Alicia said. “Maybe you’ll find someone really nice and polite after this.”
On the plus side, Han has returned to the site, but the concerns about the “farmhouse” design remain. Not even Scotty Cam could see the vision for the bathroom.
Episode 11
With Han still on the mend, she is watching a lot of the decisions being made from afar- which isn’t sitting too well. House 2’s initial Main Bathroom plan included a completely tiled wall, until Tom and Can decided to install panelling.
Unfortunately, Han thought the panelling was an “overkill” and felt like a “farmhouse.”
Another challenge has kicked off this week, with contestants rebuilding a bathroom from scratch. The project will take a few weeks, but the winner will receive Scotty’s caravan, worth $260,000.
Tom wasn’t the only blast from the past, because twins Alicia and Lysandra returned to launch Alive Skincare.
Episode 10
The pressure is on this week for Robby and Mat because it’s time to renovate the main ensuite. They’ll be sticking to their Week One bathroom “formula” with a staggering 3000 tiles using the “step-sister” of their original tiles.
It is a hard start over on House Two after Han was hospitalised with strong abdominal pain.
“The pain was too much for me to think it was just a normal bug,” she said. In her stead was former Blockhead, Tom, who competed in the 2022 season with partner Sarah-Jane.
Meanwhile, Ben was dumped for the first time ever! His plasterer, Sam, decided his team wasn’t the right fit for Emma and Ben, who thankfully were going to also have this discussion with Sam; he had already lined up a replacement.
Episode 9
The second week has wrapped up, and the judges didn’t hold back. The second week was Kids Bedroom Week, with the teams producing two rooms – thankfully, everyone finished this week!
The winners of Week Two were Britt and Taz, meaning they took home $175,000 worth of kitchen appliances. Meanwhile, Sonny and Alicia won $10,000 for the second week in a row as the best budget-friendly team.

Episode 8
The first challenge of 2025 has arrived, and the contestants must design and reupholster the bedhead going into their kids’ bedroom.
Robby and Mat’s misguided choice of fabric was the talk of the town, even though the boys didn’t like their decision, as Mat called it a “monstrosity of a bedhead.” Admittedly, they had a few champagnes before selecting the fabric…
Underdogs Han and Can won the challenge, taking home $10,000, David Bromley’s Sesame Street-inspired artwork and the Gnome. But their success was deflated when the floorboards were damaged by the rain, ultimately delaying the room’s completion.
Episode 7
It was a big episode on The Block with contestants planning a few weeks ahead with laundry, mud room and pantry. But Han’s last-minute changes to the floor plan cause chaos on House 2. She then called her dad for help, who then sketched new plans for the area. Despite handing in her plans a day late to Freedom, the new layout was approved.
Meanwhile, there might be real estate drama in House 5’s future. The boys believed they had locked down auctioneer Tom Panos, who has earned three contestants more than $1 million – until a meeting with Aaron Hill from Ray White Sunbury. Aaron claimed he and Tom would be working together exclusively, yet the boys have secured a different real estate.
At the end of the night, Emma and Ben locked down Aaron. So, who has dibs on Tom?
Episode 6
Week one is done and dusted! Now, the teams are getting started on Kid’s Bedroom Week. Some couples have an advantage, given that they are parents themselves.
Standing out on the first day was Han and Can, who have selected hard wood flooring for the kids’ room, while everyone else chose carpet. The couple are still down in the dumps following negative feedback from the judges.
Also, the Gnome has appeared! The contestants have been challenged to reupholster their own bedhead, which will then be used in the children’s bedroom. The extra point could be the difference between winning and losing $10,000 at the end of the week.
Episode 5
It was a killer first week on The Block, but the teams are finally at the end of Bathroom Week! Meaning the judges will criticise every inch of the room, and given that not everyone finished their rooms, there were some harsh judgements made.
There was one point in particular that Shaynna Blaze mentioned in every bathroom bar one – the bathroom vanity height was too tall!
As well as the normal $10,000 prize for winning a room, there was an additional $10,000 prize to the team that budgeted the best.
The Bathroom reveal was Robby and Mat after some stellar reviews for their styling, functionality, and horizontal towel rails. Sonny and Alicia won the budget award after spending only $14,739.
Episode 4
Aiden was dubbed the “grim reaper” by Britt and Taz in episode 4, after they were forced to remove every single tile in their bathroom after it was completed. They were found using a premixed tile glue, which happens to be non-compliant for The Block because it dries too slowly and can dislodge tiles.
Britt and Taz weren’t the only ones at a disadvantage. Over at House 4, Sonny and Alicia’s tilers used it on top of the waterproofing membrane; therefore, they also had some tiles to pop off. Robby and Mat narrowly avoided the same complication because their tiles were porous ceramic, which absorbs the glue and dries.
Robby and Mat just keep winning this week because their game-changing wine cellar officially got the go-ahead!
“I don’t know whether to laugh or cry,” Mat said.
Episode 3
Waterproof Wednesday is over, but a lot of contestants are still dealing with their waterproofing on Thursday. Particularly Han and Can, who believed a “working second coat” of waterproofing would suffice, before quickly being shut down by Foreman Dan and site manager Aidan.
Dan explicitly told Han she couldn’t begin the second coat until the tradie arrived, who overslept and was still 90 minutes away. Unfortunately, Han was caught waterproofing!
“You’ve disobeyed my instruction, so now I’ve lost trust here,” Dan said.
Meanwhile, Taz and Britt scored a bargain – $9000 worth of fruit trees for $600. The couple are planning well ahead for Landscaping Week, already securing Love It Landscaping Troy, who has previously worked on The Block.
Seeds of doubt were planted for Robby, who became indecisive about the tiling choices. Despite these doubts, Robby and Mat are the first team to be approved for tiling by GMac – dubbed the Wicked Witch of the West by Mat…
“Dark horse, baby,” Mat said.
Episode 2
The Blockheads have certainly been thrown into the deep end, starting with Bathroom Week, with even the most experienced bathroom renovators, Emma and Ben, off to a slow start.
Robby and Mat also started the day on the wrong foot after Scotty Cam’s plumbers accidentally caused a leak, causing their screed to have water damage. Using his hairdressing skills, Mat took a hairdryer to the area!
On top of Bathroom Week, Mat and Robby schemed a “gamble that could win [them] the show.” Their secret weapon is none other than a cellar, which could cost around $100,000 – meaning the boys have to stay on top of their weekly budgets.
Over on House 3, Taz earned a reputation for mislabelling products, including calling villa boards “vanilla.” Aside from the few blunders, Taz and Britt were forced to move their shower head further into the corner because the “splash zone” was too far into the bathroom. The only other option was to enclose the entire area, and therefore reduce the already small bathroom.
Sonny and Alicia also had a difficult start to the week, struggling with the pressure of making last-minute decisions that could impact their endgame. The married couple had to choose between a small shower door, which would look disproportionate in the bathroom, or no glass door at all. They will be the only couple with no shower door, which could make or break the room.
Meanwhile, Han and Can jumped straight into action! Han even received a compliment from Scotty.
Episode 1
The Block is back, and the first week is Bathroom Week! Unlike the previous season, this season adds a new layer of difficulty: the contestants are building their homes from scratch.
The location this year is Baylesford, in regional Victoria. As tonight is the first episode of the season, we met all the contestants.
First on site are Emma and Ben. As a civil engineer, Ben has a slight edge on the rest of the competition.
Next on the site are best friends Robby and Mat. Followed by married Queenslanders, Alicia and Sonny (who is a plumber, which will definitely come in handy this week).
Han and Can, a couple from Perth, are next on site, who share that they grew up renovating and doing hands-on work, so they are keen to get stuck into the project. The last to arrive are Britt and Taz.
Host Scotty Cam and his sidekick Frankie arrive to give the team a tour of the sites and their homes for the next couple of months: caravans instead of tents.
Some avid fans will know that the contestants were spotted on a float during Pride earlier this year, for Daylesford’s ChillOut festival. The challenge was to build a float, and the winner gets to choose their house site first!
The winners of the challenge are Britt and Taz! They chose House 3, to the surprise of the contestants.
So, the line-up is:
- House 1: Emma and Ben
- House 2: Han and Can (much to Han’s disappointment, as she wanted a pitched roof and Can chose the wrong one!)
- House 3: Britt and Taz
- House 4: Sonny and Alicia
- House 5: Robby and Mat
The next day, Han is a bit more positive (albeit after a cry and a coffee). Robby shares that he wants to build a wine cellar on his and Mat’s block. As aforementioned, this week is Bathroom Week, so there’s a ract to get their bathroom started.
Alicia and Mat both wanted the same dark wooden vanity, but Alicia got it first. In retaliation, Mat sings a ginle in his car on his way to pick up flooring tiles from Reece and Beaumont:
“I am racing to Beaumont Tiles, to pick my flooring before Lish does, ’cause she’s already. Got. My. Vaanity!”
The supervisor spotted that Han’s insulation work wasn’t correctly done and ordered a redo, and Robby and Mat’s house sprang a leak, pushing back their waterproofing time.
The day ends with snags and a chill on Alicia’s outdoor couch and a nice update from Scotty: Every Sunday, Commbank will award $10,000 to the team that is managing their budget the best.
