Never fear, here’s a complete recap:

What happened on The Block?

Episode 52

Episode 52 was the grand finale of The Block 2024; see all of the auction results from the episode (and see which team won!) here.

Episode 51

The teams worked really hard in Episode 51 to finish the Disney Clubhouse.

While they were working, ex-contestants Jesse and Paige — who sensationally quit midway through this season — visited the set.

The couple’s replacements, Maddy and Charlotte, happily showed them their now-completed house as well as the rest of the block.

Jesse and Paige became very emotional when they were reunited with the other teams. Ricky later reflected, “It must be so hard for them to see what could’ve been.”

After Jesse and Paige left, the teams cracked on with the Clubhouse until Scotty Cam called “tool’s down” for the last time.

Judges Darren Palmer, Marty Fox and Shaynna Blaze then arrived to critique and give their final scores for the season. And talk about ending on a high.

Every single team received glowing feedback and no one received lower than a 9 out of 10.

But in the end, it was Kristian and Mimi who, after receiving three 10s out of 10s, won! This earned them a staggering $50,000 off their reserve price.

The final episode of The Block 2024 will air on Sunday, November 10 at 7pm.

Episode 50

In comparison to the last few episodes, things were much calmer in Episode 50. All teams, plus their Allstar helpers, just carried on with renovating.

Of course, the pressure did get to a few contestants. Understandably, as most seasons of The Block end after Week 12. However, this year’s will end after 13 weeks because of the Disney+ Clubhouse.

Mimi sadly suffered from a panic attack as she became very overwhelmed while working on the cinema room and outdoor kitchen.

Furthermore, Ricky and Haydn became next-level frustrated when their fire flute was installed incorrectly. The poor boys had to pull all of the surrounding bricks out, reinstall the fire flute properly and relay all the bricks again.

Episode 49

Scott Cam kicked off Episode 49 by confirming to the contestants (and viewers) that Kylie and Brad are gone and will not return to The Block; not even for the auction.

The remaining contestants were then asked to start on the Disney+ Clubhouse.

It was confirmed that Maddy and Charlotte will be responsible for the outside BBQ and entertaining area, Ricky and Haydn will build the Alfresco dining space, Courtney and Grant will create the day spa and sauna, and Kristian and Mimi will complete the cinema room and outside kitchen.

All contestants were also assigned an ‘Allstars’ team, who will help them complete their section of the Disney+ Clubhouse.

Ronnie and Georgie will help the sisters, Eliza and Liberty will help the boys, Steph and Gian will help Courtney and Grant, and Alisa and Tam will help Kristian and Mimi.

Jimmy and Tam were supposed to help Kylie and Brad build the games room; however, as the couple have officially departed the show, Jimmy and Tam will just do it themselves…

After all of this was established, everyone got to work.

And despite Kylie and Brad’s absence, some drama started up. Maddy and Charlotte ended up in tears after a truck Ricky and Haydn organised parked in their spot and stopped them from renovating.

Kylie and Brad receive feedback on episode 48 of The Block

Episode 48

The drama continued on Sunday night with Kylie announcing she was leaving the show once and for all.

With only a few hours left in the competition — and a Ford Mustang on offer for this episode’s winners — the teams were hard at work to get their houses completed.

In a dramatic send-off, Kylie threw out the team of tradies, blew up at host Scott Cam and the judges, before leaving after dark — not even making time to put on her shoes.

The trouble started when Kylie and Brad’s outdoor couch never showed up. Maddy on hearing this, graciously offered one of hers so that the former couple could finish their outdoor area. However, Kylie would not accept Maddy’s offer, saying “I don’t like charity and I don’t like help.”

Brad and Kylie received some tough feedback from the judges who were unimpressed with the former couple’s outdoor area, which they described as needing “more thought and planning” and that it appeared the couple had “checked out”.

Kylie responded with ,”Wrap it up,” multiple times to Scott Cam as he read out the feedback.

However, the judges ended their comments by saying that Brad and Kylie should be proud of their efforts, to which Kylie responded by calling the feedback “a f**king joke.”

Things fared better with the other teams. Courtney and Grant fared best of all, winning this week’s episode and scoring a Ford Mustang. The judges were particularly pleased by the chosen plants, saying the two had “nailed” the coastal aesthetic and that it looked “lush” and “inviting”. Their front door was also described as a “dream entry” with its eye-catching framed entry and large timber door.

Ricky and Haydn made some colourful choices this week with a bright pink garage door, a massive palm tree and their winning boat in the driveway.

Kristian and Mimi’s efforts led to many positive comments from the judges including a “quite nice” front porch, the retractable screens on the balcony and gated entry for a boat. However, Shaynna did state that the duo got the layout wrong. However, overall the team were called the “most consistent.”

As the rest of the teams congratulated one another, Kylie stormed off, closely followed by Brad. Kylie threatened the crew that she would break their equipment if they didn’t stop filming her as she left.

Kylie was found alongside the road in the dark by her husband and two women from the production team and was coaxed into their car. It was then that Kylie told Brad that she wanted to leave and not return, not even for auction.

Episode 47

The last few episodes of The Block have felt like a soap opera rather than a renovating show. Episode 47 was no exception: Kylie brutally broke up with Brad, her husband of seven years and father of her four children.

Kylie began by explaining why she returned to The Block after the whole Brad and Mimi flirting scandal.

“If I gave up, we’d leave with nothing. So, whatever we get, even if it’s $10K, I’m taking f**king half of what you get and I’m leaving your arse,” she said.

“You can keep the house and I’m f**king off. I don’t even know if I’m staying in Cairns [Kylie and Brad’s hometown] to be honest; there’s nothing there for me anymore,” Kylie continued.

She then told Brad exactly why the comments he made to Mimi hurt her.

“My biggest problem? You have never flirted with me like that in our entire relationship. So, you can only imagine how that makes me feel. Why are you talking to her about following her OnlyFans?”

Kylie went on to reveal that she’s long suspected Mimi of having feelings for Brad.

“My biggest thing was, I’d already voiced my concerns to you about her and how she felt about you. You’ve just completely gone with it and annihilated our entire relationship,” she said.

Kylie finished by saying, “Just me talking to you does not mean I’m okay, just so you know. This is us being separated. We’re officially single people.”

Aside from this breakup, Episode 47 also featured Ricky and Haydn buying a huge palm tree for their front yard and painting their garage door hot pink — two decisions the other contestants aren’t too keen on.

Episode 46

The drama between Kylie and Brad (which began after she overheard him ‘flirting’ with Mimi) continued in Episode 46.

Firstly, Mimi got to tell her side of the story and she surprisingly said that Brad didn’t say anything inappropriate.

“Saturday night, I was at Kylie and Brad’s house, just hanging out [and] drinking. Kylie went to sleep on the deck next to us. I stayed chatting; maybe there were some comments made that came across as flirty. I was personally comfortable with it,” Mimi told producers while her husband Kristian sat beside her.

“It’s unfortunate that Kylie overheard, which led to her leaving, which was not anyone’s intention.”

Kristian chimed in with, “I don’t think Mimi should have any regrets about going out and having a good time. In terms of the comment, if Mimi didn’t feel uncomfortable about what was said, then I’m not going to.”

He then turned to Mimi and said, “It’s not like you were flirting back.”

Later in the episode, Scott informed Brad that Kylie would be returning to The Block despite only leaving at the end of the prior episode.

“I’ve spoken to Kylie and she’s coming back tomorrow. She’s flying back. She’s still upset, but she’s coming back,” Scott shared.

Brad received a fiery greeting from his wife when she arrived back on the building site. He brought her a coffee and Kylie warned him, “If you hand me that, I’m going to throw it at you.”

In a smart move, Brad then decided to bunk with Ricky and Haydn for the time being.

While this scandal was unfolding, all the other contestants just carried on with their renovations, and Maddy and Charlotte’s dad came to visit.

Episode 45

We thought it was scandalous when Jesse and Paige left The Block, but that was nothing compared to Kylie leaving in Episode 45.

The episode started with all of the contestants attending the ‘Domain Open For Inspections’. The entire time they were there, Kylie refused to speak to her husband Brad.

It was a little confusing at first. But Brad ended up explaining to producers that Kylie was ignoring him because of something that recently transpired off-camera…

Mimi went to Kylie and Brad’s house with a bottle of wine to unwind one night after filming. And during that night, Brad made some self-described “inappropriate comments” to Mimi while Kylie took a nap. However, Kylie wasn’t sound asleep and overhead the comments.

“I said some pretty inappropriate comments. I was flirting with Mimi … Kylie overheard them, and understandably she’s quite upset,” Brad admitted.

Soon after Brad explained why Kylie was ignoring him, the episode cut to Kylie in her Block car on the phone to her mother.

“[Brad has done something] that made me feel very unhappy. It just makes me down about me,” Kylie told her mum.

“What, [is] he b**ching about you to other people? Well, that’s happened before and it’ll continue to happen,” Kylie’s mum replied.

“Plus flirting, plus talking really inappropriately. How many f**king chances have I given him? Time after time,” Kylie said.

Kylie then gave her mum an example of one of the inappropriate comments she overheard Brad say to Mimi. For instance, Brad said to Mimi, “I’d follow your OnlyFans.”

Kylie went on to say to her mum, “I actually feel disgusted. How little I mean to him is … really sad.”

From here, the episode showed the other contestants finishing off their houses and landscaping their front yards. But the drama wasn’t over just yet.

Scotty Cam informed Courtney and Grant during their winners’ dinner that Kylie had left.

The longtime host of The Block said that Kylie had left the building site in the morning to attend a flooring consultation but hadn’t been seen since.

Footage then showed Brad finding Kylie’s abandoned Block car in an Aldi car park, hours after she had left the site. He did a little detective work and quickly deduced that Kylie must’ve flown back to their four children in Cairns as she’d taken her nail scissors out of her handbag and left them in the car.

“They won’t let you take them as carry-on,” Brad explained.

Brad also found her Block phone in Kylie’s abandoned car. On the phone was a video message Kylie had recorded for the show’s production team.

“Alright, so I’m saying goodbye. I can’t be on national television having my marriage breaking down. So I’m going home, and I can’t say I’ll be returning,” Kylie said in the video, explaining her departure.

“You can talk to Brad about the details, but unfortunately I can’t do it anymore. Thank you for the opportunity and I’m sorry I can’t stay until the end, I’m just not strong enough anymore.”

After watching the video, Brad told producers, “I’m embarrassed, and I feel sorry for other people having to live with my choices. She’s the last person I want to hurt — her or my kids or my family. But I managed to do it anyways. There’s no way this is going to go away or get better. It’s done.”

Producers asked Brad if he thought his and Kylie’s marriage was over.

1

“I’d say so. I’d very much say that I’ve just single-handedly destroyed my family,” he replied.

Episode 44

Before Shaynna, Marty, Darren and special guest judge Dave Franklin came in to judge the contestants’ backyards, everyone was racing to get their respective backyard spaces done.

Maddy and Charlotte had a bit of a panic when they learned that their Caeserstone bench was not legal in Victoria. But the girls persevered and quickly found a suitable (and legal) replacement.

Whereas poor Kylie and Brad, no matter how hard they tried, couldn’t finish their backyard. They were very deflated when the judges arrived and even more so after receiving harsh feedback.

Episode 43

Troy Lovett, a landscaper who has worked on The Block before, stirred up some trouble in Episode 43. So much trouble in fact, that he got House 5 shut down completely. Obviously, Kristian and Mimi were furious.

Meanwhile, Clay, Kylie and Brad’s landscaper forgot to order any plants… So it looks like Kylie and Brad won’t finish their backyard on time.

Episode 42

In terms of renovations, all the teams continued with their landscaping in Episode 42. They did face some issues when it came to deliveries as the driveway into The Block is only fit for one truck at a time, but everyone just carried on as that’s totally out of their control.

And in terms of personal drama, everyone was still talking about Kylie storming out of dinner the night before. Maddy was particularly affected and cried while saying she didn’t understand what Kylie’s problem was.

In a nice move, Kristian and Mimi invited Maddy and Charlotte to dinner as they had started to feel bad about the sisters being consistently excluded. The invitation was then extended to everyone but Kylie and Brad refused to go.

Episode 41

The biggest week on The Block renovations-wise is finally here! Each team must tackle their backyards and pools.

It was absolute chaos as all of the landscapers arrived and began work. Ricky and Haydn (and their trusty builder Duncan) were yet to lock in a landscaper so they started without one.

Meanwhile, all of the contestants gathered at Kylie and Brad’s house to watch the first episode of The Block. Despite hosting, Kylie didn’t watch the screening and went to bed instead.

3

Then later in the episode, at a dinner at Maddy and Charlotte’s house, the first episode was brought up. The conversation then somehow turned to Maddy and Charlotte ‘lying’ about being professional house flippers.

Maddy earnestly tried to defend her and her sister but Kylie didn’t want to hear it and stormed out.

Episode 40

Aside from the room reveals, this episode was just renovations and pub visits…

All the teams finished their guest bedrooms and laundry rooms. Then Kylie, Mimi and Courtney had a few drinks at the pub, as did Ricky and Haydn.

Oh, and Scotty announced that each team would receive $10,000 cash and $10,000 worth of outdoor furniture for their landscaping.

Episode 39

All of the contestants just pushed through with their renovations; although there were a few hiccups…

4

For instance, it was raining, some contestants still had issues with locking in tradies and Maddy and Charlotte were yelled at by Foreman Dan for tiling their laundry before installing cabinets.

When the Blockheads weren’t hard at work (or being yelled at), they attended a charity BBQ hosted by Tom and Sarah Jane from The Block 2022 and held for the Breast Cancer Network Australia.

And that was pretty much it for Episode 39.

Episode 38

In Episode 38, Maddy and Charlotte got increasingly stressed as they tried to get approval for special bunk beds – which they did get in the end.

Then the whole episode was set at the family fun fair challenge. All of the contestants were delighted when they arrived at the fair as their families and friends were there to greet them.

Kylie and Brad were especially ecstatic to see their four kids.

And in the end, Kristian and Mimi won the challenge for their old-school dunking machine.

Episode 37

In Episode 37, Kylie, still reeling from the negative feedback she and Brad got during the last room reveal, is set on leaving The Block

However, Brad convinced her to stay and finish what they started… For the time being at least.

The teams all then started work on the final rooms in the house that needed to be completed – the last guest bedroom and the laundry.

But before they could get into the full swing of things, Foreman Dan called another challenge. Everyone has to create a stall at a family fun fair on Phillip Island.

And not a lot besides that, and Maddy, Charlotte, Ricky and Haydn enjoying a winners dinner with 2022 The Block winners Oz and Omar, happened.

Episode 36

Before the room was revealed, Kristian and Mimi had another blowup. Kristian wanted to clean up all the rooms, so they were ready for next week, whereas Mimi wanted to start painting their unfinished hallway, and the two just couldn’t come to an agreement. Mimi then said to the cameras that she really struggles when Kristian shows emotion and Kristian admitted to the cameras that he’s really struggling with the pressure that comes with being on The Block.

6

After the room reveals, which Maddy and Charlotte and Ricky and Haydn won after tying, there was some drama with Kylie. She and Brad received very bad feedback this week, which left her upset. However, when Maddy and Charlotte won, she became even more distraught. Kylie said that she thinks the sisters are getting special treatment. Then she refused to talk to the production team and told Brad that she wanted to leave The Block altogether.

Episode 35

The results from the Domain party were revealed in Episode 35. Ricky and Haydn ended up winning, meaning they got an extra $50,000 for their budget, while Kristian and Mimi were a close second.

Obviously, the boys were stoked but Maddy and Charlotte got rather upset as their house only got 8 percent of the vote.

After the results were revealed, the teams carried on work but after a massive high, Ricky and Haydn quickly faced a low — their landscaper pulled out as the rumours of The Block not paying tradies persisted. The boys will now have to scramble to find a new landscaper.

Also in Episode 35, Kristian once again broke down. He realised that he and Mimi would not finish the two spaces they were supposed to deliver this week. The couple decided to just focus their attention on one of the spaces: the rumpus room.

But Kristian ended up going to Foreman Dan voicing how upset and stressed he is. Dan kindly comforted him and agreed that The Block is indeed tough.

Episode 34

All of the contestants had to have their hallways finished in this episode so special guest judge Neale Whitaker could come and evaluate. Sadly, not everyone finished.

Kristian ended up in tears again when Neale walked through his and Mimi’s clearly unfinished hallway. Neale kindly comforted Kristian though, and said he could still see some bright spots in the hallway despite it not being quite done.

In the end, Courtney and Grant ended up winning for their hallway.

Also in Episode 34 was the ‘Domain party’ where potential buyers could come and look at the houses. All eyes were on Danny Wallis and Adrian Portelli, notorious The Block buyers. Both Danny and Adrian said they were impressed with all the houses, keeping their cards close to their chests.

Episode 33

In Episode 33, everyone started work on the next spaces to be renovated: the office, rumpus room and hallway.

Also in this episode, the pressure of The Block really got to Kristian and he broke down in tears. However, his partner Mimi wasn’t too supportive, saying that she’s not sure how to handle him when he’s emotional and that he should “do better”.

Meanwhile, Maddy and Charlotte decided that they were going to build a private entrance upstairs thinking they had approval from Foreman Dan — however, the builders know nothing about it…

8

And finally, Kylie and Brad enjoyed their winners’ dinner with fan-favourite Block alums Tom and Sarah-Jane.

Episode 32

Aside from the room reveals, which Kylie and Brad won this week, not a lot happened in Episode 32.

Kristian once again had to swallow his pride and ask Maddy and Charlotte for help; this time he asked to borrow paint. Again, the sisters graciously said yes.

However, Maddy and Charlotte were shocked when Courtney and Grant tried to poach their plasterer without even consulting them first.

Episode 31

To be perfectly honest, nothing of real note happened in Episode 31. The teams just continued work on their living and dining rooms, with Scotty making good on his promise and getting painters in for everyone.

The teams also started thinking and planning budget-wise as they realised that landscaping week — whenever it takes place — would be expensive.

9

Ricky and Haydn did lose their landscaper, as the rumour in the local area is that The Block aren’t paying tradies; a rumour that started thanks to Courtney and Grant… But there’s still plenty of time for the boys to replace him.

Oh and Courtney, Mimi and Kylie had a few drinks together one night and randomly screamed for hours on end.

Episode 30

Maddy was still pretty upset at the way she and Charlotte have been treated by the other contestants but she and her sister got the chance to be the bigger people.

Kristian, desperate for plasterers, asked Maddy and Charlotte if he and Mimi could borrow theirs. And even though Kristian rudely took Maddy and Charlotte’s plasterers in their first week, Maddy and Charlotte allowed Kristian to borrow their plasterers.

Kristian was very grateful as the pressure was starting to get to him; he was virtually in tears.

Also in Episode 30, everyone competed in a go-kart challenge with Ricky and Haydn winning. And in a first for The Block, Scotty said he’d provide everyone with painters to make up for the gyprock delivery issue.

Episode 29

It’s announced that the next room to be tackled is the living and dining room in Episode 29.

All of the teams start work and, to be honest, nothing really happens aside from Foreman Dan saying everyone will be set back because of an issue with the gyprock delivery and some high school-esque drama.

Essentially, Maddy and Charlotte are hyper-aware of the other teams not liking them, especially Kylie.

They’re advised by former The Block contestants Eliza and Liberty to just “stay in their own lane” and ignore the others.

But poor Maddy ends up in tears, as not having any friends is getting to her.

Episode 28

The episode began with a basketball challenge; something the teams weren’t too enthused about as they had little time left to work on their guest ensuites.

In the end, Ricky and Haydn won the challenge and everyone rushed back to work.

1

While working, Haydn decided to confront Maddy and Charlotte about what they did for a living – the sisters said they were accountants but Haydn’s wife found a video that proved they were professional house flippers.

Maddy and Charlotte easily brushed it off but Haydn, along with all the other contestants, are still very suspicious.

Ultimately, every team pulled an all-nighter to finish before ‘tool’s down’, and then the judges came in to… judge.

Maddy and Charlotte won this week to everyone else’s dismay.

Episode 27

In Episode 27, the teams all got to choose their clubhouse space with Courtney and Grant getting to go first after winning the last challenge. They ultimately went for the spa area hoping they can play to their ‘luxe’ strengths.

And then the drama kicked off. Haydn’s wife Chelsea found a video online of Maddy and Charlotte that discloses they’re professional house flippers. Everyone is very angry that the girls kept this quiet and think it’s an unfair advantage.

Thankfully, Scotty is quick to point out that Grant is a landscaping business manager, Courtney is a furniture designer and Brad, Ricky and Kristian are all tradies.

2

The OG teams are still very upset though and feel “betrayed”. We’re betting there will be a big confrontation with Maddy and Charlotte in the next episode of The Block.

Episode 26

There was a lot of fighting in Episode 26. Courtney and Grant and Ricky and Hadyn had a bit of a blowup when Ricky told everyone he was going to call a body corporate to discuss the rumours that local trades are not getting paid.

Grant took this personally and felt like Ricky was calling him and Courtney out for not paying their tradies. Courtney and Grant explained to Ricky and Haydn that they were waiting for their shower screen to be fixed (the wrong size was delivered and installed) before they paid. In the end, Grant just paid the invoice to keep the peace but there’s clear tension between the two teams now.

Furthermore, Grant also argued with Foreman Dan (again). This time, Dan confronted Grant after he entered the Nine In Six office – where contestants are strictly forbidden. The ensuing fight was too much for Courtney and she left The Block set without her phone for some space.

The final fight of Episode 26 was between Kylie and Brad. Kylie spied a message Brad had sent to a tiler that read ‘Kylie’s in a bad mood’. This led to the two arguing and Kylie heading off to the weekly challenge alone.

Speaking of the challenge, Courtney and Grant took out the win and will have first pick of the areas in the communal Clubhouse the teams will have to renovate in Week 13 on The Block.

And in happier news, Haydn’s wife Chelsea and their baby girl Tilley moved down to Phillip Island for a few weeks.

3

Episode 25

The Blockheads were told what’s next to renovate in Episode 25: the guest ensuite. All teams got stuck into their ensuites right away.

They were also told by Foreman Dan that over-ordering had to stop and, as punishment for doing so, he shut down a few sites. Dan then shared that Grant had ‘dobbed’ on everyone for over-ordering, reigniting the feud between the two.

Courtney ended up getting quite upset and overwhelmed after being told off by Dan; could we have another potential Jesse and Paige situation on our hands?

Also in Episode 25, Kylie and Brad enjoyed their winners’ dinner with The Block ‘allstars’ Michael and Carlene, and auctioneer Aaron Wood (who has won The Block twice in the past) chose to represent Ricky and Haydn.

foreman dan the block

Episode 24

Another Sunday, another room reveal episode. The majority of Episode 24 was judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox critiquing and scoring the contestants’ kitchens.

Kylie and Brad ended up winning this week after playing their penguin from the challenge they won in Week 3. Interestingly, the couple only played their penguin to stop newcomers Maddy and Charlotte from winning…

4

Also in Episode 24, Foreman Dan and Grant made up after their blowup in Episode 21 (Dan accused Grant of overordering Gyprock but Grant was adamant everyone ordered that much). Dan apologised and conceded that after doing an audit, Grant was correct and everyone on The Block had ‘overordered’ Gyprock.

Episode 23

The Surf Club renovation challenge finally came to an end in Episode 23, with special guest Neale Whitaker — former The Block judge — crowning the winners.

Team Ricky, Haydn, Kylie, Brad, Kyal and Kara took out the win.

Also in Episode 23, all teams continued work on their kitchens.

Sadly, Maddy and Charlotte had to do so without a builder after Zac quit. The sisters asked Kyal to join them but he said he couldn’t commit due to having too many projects underway back home.

Episode 22

Drama, drama, drama. Maddy and Charlotte continued to clash with their builders, especially Zac, for the majority of Episode 22. After several blowups and many tears, Zac quit.

5

Meanwhile, the sisters along with Kristian and Mimi and Courtney and Grant were scolded by Foreman Keith for not giving their all to the Surf Club renovation challenge.

And Ricky and Haydn offered former Block contestant Duncan Miller a permanent spot on their building team.

Episode 21

At the beginning of the episode, the teams were told that they were to renovate their kitchens this week. But instead of allowing each team to get to work, The Block crew got them to partake in a challenge instead.

Foreman Keith returned and split the teams into two groups and asked them to renovate Woolamai Surf Club. Ultimately though, Keith became annoyed with several contestants — Courtney and Grant, Kristian and Mimi and Maddy and Charlotte — for not putting enough effort into the challenge.

Also in Episode 21, the teams realised that newcomers Maddy and Charlotte might be a real threat. So they gave the sisters the cold shoulder; poor Maddy celebrated her 25th birthday and no one was particularly kind to her or Charlotte.

Furthermore, Foreman Dan and Grant had a heated argument; Dan accused Grant of over-ordering Gyprock but Grant was adamant that every other team has done the same…

Episode 20

Episode 20 kicked off with the teams racing to finish their master bedrooms. Thankfully, newcomers Maddy and Charlotte finally locked in a plasterer.

Meanwhile, both Kylie and Brad and Courtney and Grant went bold with their master bedroom choices — Kylie and Brad chose to put copper Grafico wallpaper on their roof while Courtney and Grant went for a serious Mediterranean style.

Sadly, when Scott called tools down for this week Ricky and Haydn hadn’t finished their room; marking the second time the boys have failed to finish a room.

Finally, in Episode 20, the judges came in to look at each team’s respective efforts. You can read their comments and scores here.

Episode 19

Poor newcomers Maddy and Charlotte struggled in this episode; the girls tried to forge relationships with The Block’s tradies but it didn’t go too well. The plasterers are loyal to Kristian and Mimi and the builder Zac has a strong bond with Jesse and Paige.

Maddy and Charlotte both ended up in tears and became worried that without locking in a plasterer, they wouldn’t finish the master bedroom and walk-in wardrobe. But after a moment of sadness, the sisters picked themselves up and vowed to get everything done.

Meanwhile, Grant was punished for missing the challenge in Episode 18. He, along with Kylie, Maddy, Mimi and Haydn, went to Freedom and participated in a bed-making challenge. Kylie ended up winning, taking the $5000 cash prize.

Episode 18

The Block got a new team in Episode 18: Maddy and Charlotte. The sisters are from Sydney, NSW and flip houses professionally; something they decided to keep to themselves.

Maddy and Charlotte were greeted by all of the other contestants when they first arrived but, for whatever reason, Kylie was really unwelcoming to them.

After meeting everyone, the sisters quickly got to work on their master bedroom and walk-in wardrobe, and all the other teams continued to work on theirs.

Kylie then called her mum to complain about the new team, saying she was sure that Maddy and Charlotte would get special treatment.

Finally in this episode, a challenge was called: everyone had to build a paper mache lamp to store in their main bedroom.

Grant decided not to compete in the ‘mandatory’ challenge; he stayed back and continued renovation work.

Scott was not happy about this and brutally interrogated Courtney about why her partner refused to turn up. Courtney understandably burst into tears and walked off the set.

8

Scott ended up apologising to Courtney and the challenge kicked off, with Ricky and Haydn taking out the win.

Episode 17

After weeks of fights, tears and stress, Jesse and Paige decided to leave The Block midway through the competition. After yet another argument that other contestants couldn’t help but overhear, The Block’s executive producer Justin Sturzaker finally stepped in.

He told the young couple that they couldn’t continue on like this; they either had to stop all the fighting or leave. Jesse and Paige ultimately chose the latter.

After everyone said goodbye to Jesse and Paige, they all started work on the next room to be renovated: the main bedroom and walk-in wardrobe.

The former Block contestants Ronnie and Georgie arrived at Phillips Island pretending to be the contestants replacing Jesse and Paige.

Kylie immediately spiralled and threatened to quit the show; luckily Scott called her and revealed it was a prank. Ronnie and Georgia will only be on the set for a short time to help the actual replacement contestants get started.

Episode 17 ended with Kylie being rather unhappy with all the “drama” and wishing for Jesse and Paige to come back…

Episode 16

Grant celebrated his 30th birthday in Episode 16 with all the other Block contestants… Well, almost all of the other Block contestants.

Jesse and Paige did not turn up to the party thrown for Grant by Scotty Cam (and featuring a surprise appearance by former Foreman Keith!), as they had yet another argument.

The young couple also blew up at Nadia from The Block Shop; they rang her at 1am to berate her for not delivering the right materials. It unsurprisingly did not go down well.

Especially when Jesse and Paige denied the call ever took place, despite it being filmed…

Then near the end of the episode, the judges came in to score each team’s latest renovation. All five teams impressed Shaynna, Marty and Darren but ultimately Kristian and Mimi won this week.

Episode 15

The teams are continuing to work on their guest bedrooms in Episode 15; well almost all of the teams…

Ricky and Haydn tried to complete the bathroom they failed to finish last week but faced more waterproofing issues.

Meanwhile, Kylie and Brad decided to take Marty Fox and Alice Stolz’s advice and make their guest bedroom a kids’ room — but Kylie is not really happy about it.

Also in this episode was a challenge! The contestants had to go fishing and then cook whatever they caught and present it for judging.

Ricky and Hadyn won the challenge and the accompanying prize — a $120,000 Bar Crusher fishing boat that they will sell in their house on auction day.

Episode 14

Honestly, there was mostly just arguing in Episode 14. Paige continued to say that she didn’t want to be on The Block anymore; she especially spiralled when the furniture she wanted was unavailable.

As for Courtney and Grant, they found out their builders had told Tina from the McCafe that they hadn’t been paid. Grant became furious, saying that he had paid them and how dare they talk behind his back… Ultimately, Grant fired all of his and Courtney’s builders.

And Brad and Kylie’s site was shut down after Brad worked overnight without supervision.

Episode 13

The teams were well and truly feeling the pressure as they headed into Week 4 of The Block. After learning the next room to tackle was the guest bedroom, they all began work straight away.

Ricky and Haydn were visibly excited for a fresh start in Episode 13 when their new building team, led by former Block contestant Duncan Miller, arrived on Phillip Island.

As for Jesse and Paige, the couple got into a tense argument yet again; Paige accused Jesse of not listening to her. Plus, more issues arose between the two when they and the other teams began selecting their real estate agents…

Kylie and Brad became quite frustrated after judge Marty Fox and Alice Stolz from Domain’s visit (the pair went to every house to offer advice). Marty and Alice encouraged Kylie and Brad to do a kids’ room for their guest bedroom this week but Kylie ultimately just felt attacked.

The only team who seemed to be fine during this episode were Courtney and Grant; for winning Week 3, they were treated to a wonderful dinner cooked by celebrity chef Scott Pickett and got to meet Block legends, Alisa and Lysandra.

Episode 12

Episode 12 began 24 hours before Week 3’s room reveals; meaning all teams were pushing themselves to get to the finish line.

Brad and Kylie and Courtney and Grant realised their respective shower screens were the wrong size and poor Ricky and Haydn had to come to terms that really wouldn’t finish after the whole fiasco with their builder.

The judges then came in the next day and ultimately, were impressed by every team’s efforts – aside from Ricky and Haydn, of course.

Ultimately, Courtney and Grant took out the win this week; you can see all of the judge’s scores and comments here.

Episode 11

If we had to sum up Episode 11 in one word, it’d be ‘panic’. Pretty much everyone was panicked about finishing on time.

With only three days until the next room reveal, Kylie and Brad and Jesse and Paige were the only teams who had started tiling their ensuite bathrooms…

Kristian and Mimi fell behind as their new tiler arrived without the correct paperwork, meaning he couldn’t get inducted or start tiling…

Foreman Dan alerted Ricky and Haydn to multiple issues with their waterproofing; ultimately, the boys fired their builder Miller.

Episode 10

Ricky and Haydn and Kylie and Brad had a bit of a tiff over the location of their respective pools in Episode 10; the boys thought they might be too close together. But after chatting to The Block architect Julian Brenchley, Ricky and Haydn let it go.

And thank goodness they did; a bigger issue to worry about arose… Ricky and Haydn’s builder Miller began falling seriously behind on his workload. To make matters worse, Miller left early one day for a “personal commitment” which turned out to be a music concert with his wife. Ricky became angry that Miller wasn’t just honest and upfront about it.

Also in Episode 10, Kylie and Brad got a styling session – something that made Kylie suspicious. Should she be happy or offended that she’s getting extra help?

And as for the other teams, they just continued with their renovations.

Episode 9

Episode 9 was explosive. For starters, Kylie freaks out when it’s revealed the next room up for renovation is the ensuite bathroom; she’s not sure whether she should stick to her all-black theme or go for something a little more minimalistic.

Grant and Courtney had a huge argument with their builders about labour costs, with Grant demanding they take $6,500 off the bill. Then the couple missed their compulsory pre-start with Foreman Dan and lied to him about it… This led to their building site getting shut down for an hour.

Mates Ricky and Haydn couldn’t seem to lock in a tiler and a waterproofer which could really spell trouble for them later this week.

Jesse and Paige had a major argument with Foreman Dan; the couple failed to get their plans in on time. Jesse ultimately apologised to Dan for his behaviour but that wasn’t the end of drama for him. He made Paige really cranky as he chose floor-to-ceiling tiles without asking her… Tears ensued.

The only couple who didn’t have any sort of conflict was Kristian and Mimi; after winning last week’s room reveal they just went on their Ford Getaway with 2020 The Block winners Jimmy and Tam.

Episode 8

Not too much happened in Episode 8; the teams finished their guest bedrooms and then enjoyed a night out together at the local pub.

The judges came in the next day to critique and score each room; you can read the judges’ comments in full here.

Episode 7

Episode 7 focused on all teams continuing with their guest bedroom renovations.

The pressure was getting to all of them in this episode; especially Paige who ended up having a massive fight with Jesse over… nothing?

Also in this episode, Scott and Shelley checked in with all the contestants to give advice. But for poor Kylie, it wasn’t that helpful.

She’s been concerned all week about continuing her black theme after Marty Fox’s harsh judgement. Scott tells her to think of the buyer (aka abandon all black) but Shelley tells her to stick to her decor guns; ultimately leaving Kylie just as confused as she was before she sought their advice.

Episode 6

The contestants continued working on their guest bedrooms in Episode 6 – which ultimately was full of meltdowns.

Kristian continually tried to cut corners to make up for the time penalty he and Mimi incurred as punishment for forging Foreman Dan’s signature. This made Mimi very stressed.

Speaking of being very stressed, Courtney and Grant freaked out when they received a huge trade bill — it sent them $15,000 over budget.

As for Jesse and Paige, the young couple just can’t seem to cope with the pressure of The Block; Paige became adamant in this episode that she wants to leave the competition entirely.

Episode 5

Talk about drama. Episode 5 started off well with the contestants all supporting one another and agreeing judge Marty Fox was way too harsh on Kylie and Brad’s master bathroom.

Then, after learning their next room to tackle is the guest bedroom, all contestants started planning and shopping for goods… Well, all contestants except Jesse. This led to Paige having a bit of a breakdown in her car; she said to herself (and the cameras) that she was sick of Jesse not supporting her.

Kristian and Mimi then headed out to a ‘winner’s dinner’ where they were joined by the 2023 The Block winners Steph and Gian, and ultimately got many tips on how to do well in the competition.

But everything went downhill for the couple following this dinner. For starters, they clashed during their Kinsman kitchen consult the next day. Mimi ended up in tears.

Then, after returning to the site, Foreman Dan ripped into Kristian for forging his signature on a demolition permit. As punishment, Kristian will have to sit out for an hour without building or renovating the next day.

Mimi is understandably frustrated, especially because she had no idea Kristian had forged Dan’s signature in the first place.

Episode 4

The couples continued working on their bathrooms; Courtney and Grant told their builders that, after having issues all week, they were not happy.

Whereas Jesse and Paige realised they wouldn’t finish on time. And Haydn returned after he was away for a few days – his wife Chelsea gave birth to their first child Matilda.

Scott Cam then called “Tool’s Down” and the judges came in to score each team’s bathroom. Read their feedback and scores (and see pictures of this year’s first room reveal) here.

Episode 3

Kristian and Mimi continued to on their bathroom at a good pace, getting their waterproofing signed off. They did become a little concerned with their tiler though, who’s a bit slow for their liking.

But that’s nothing compared to the drama Jesse and Paige and Courtney and Grant faced in this episode.

For starters, Jesse had to find a local waterproofer after their waterproofing wasn’t up to scratch. Furthermore, Jesse and Paige’s custom shower screen wasn’t ordered, meaning they had to settle for one that wasn’t tall enough or compliant. The couple became incredibly stressed and began considering not finishing their renovation at all.

As for Courtney and Grant, their builders got a strike from Foreman Dan. Apparently, they didn’t follow the rules regarding shower screen installation. Grant understandably became angry and organised a meeting with his and Courtney’s builders so they could talk it all out.

Other things of note that happened in Episode 3 were Shelley Craft arriving at Phillip Island and meeting all of this year’s contestants. And Ricky carried on renovating solo while Haydn was still away with his wife and newborn baby.

Episode 2

The teams continued work on their master bathrooms. Kristian and Mimi fell into a good rhythm and were feeling happy with their progress.

Ricky and Haydn were also feeling good, although they spent a whopping $12,000 on a bathtub in the hopes that it’ll give them a winning edge with the judges.

Kylie and Brad struggled; especially with their layout, as Kylie was adamant on sticking to her initial choices.

And Jesse pretty much fell to pieces. The stress really got to him and he called his mum in tears. Thankfully, she reassured him and he returned to renovating.

In happier news, Haydn got a call from his wife Chelsea – she’d gone into early labour. Scott Cam quickly organised a helicopter and Haydn made it just in time to see his baby girl Matilda being born.

Back on Phillip Island though, Paige became determined to change the plans of The Block’s architect Julian Brenchley. Refusing to listen to Julian and her Kinsman representative’s reasonings as to why she shouldn’t change the location of the main bedroom, Paige stormed off saying she felt disrespected.

Episode 1

In the first episode, we were introduced to the 2024 contestants: Jesse and Paige, Kristian and Mimi, Ricky and Haydn, Courtney and Grant, and Kylie and Brad. Read more about them all here.

We were also introduced to this year’s site: An abandoned resort on Phillip Island.

Long time The Block host Scotty Cam — and his adorable dog Frankie — explained that originally there were eight two-bedroom villas on the resort, but it has been transformed for the Blockheads; they’ll have to renovate five houses across the site.

Surprisingly, this year there was no house decider challenge. Instead, the contestants randomly got assigned a house by picking a penguin (Phillips Island’s number one tourist attraction is the Penguin Parade) and the results were:

  • House No. 1: Jesse and Paige
  • House No. 2: Courtney and Grant
  • House No. 3: Ricky and Haydn
  • House No.4: Kylie and Brad.
  • House No. 5: Kristian and Mimi

After then being told their total budget was $250,000 each and they must renovate the main bathroom first, the teams got cracking.

Kylie decided she was set on an all-black bathroom; even though this may slow down her husband Brad…

Furthermore, Jesse and Paige both began spiralling after realising how hard the renovation was going to be.
