Blockheads no longer have to wonder who leaves The Block 2024… It was Jesse and Paige.
Right before this year’s season began, a producer confirmed that one team would quit midway.
“We didn’t make it through the whole series with all five teams. We had to replace one of them along the way, which was a very dramatic moment,” The Block co-creator and executive producer Julian Cress told TV Tonight in early August.
“We’ve had a team leave previously in the show in Gisborne, but that was only after a couple of days. This time, we have a team, deciding to depart the show, a fair way in to the renovation, and then have another team have to come in and take over that build when quite a few rooms had already been revealed; that’s never happened before.”
And now we know that Julian was referring to the young couple from Western Australia.
So, why did Jesse and Paige quit The Block 2024?
Well, throughout the season, Paige expressed to her partner Jesse that she wanted to quit The Block.
She really couldn’t handle the pressure of the reality series and it led to some serious fights with both Jesse and other cast and crew members of The Block.
Most recently, Jesse and Paige rang Nadia from The Block Shop at 1am to yell at her for not delivering the right materials. The couple then denied the call ever took place, despite the whole thing being filmed…
Ultimately in Episode 17, The Block’s executive producer Justin Sturzaker finally stepped in and said things couldn’t go on like this; the couple either had to stop getting into massive rows or leave.
For Paige’s mental health, she and Jesse made the tough decision to leave the competition altogether.
The couple then went from house to house to let everyone know and they said goodbye with one big group hug.
Jesse and Paige’s replacements have not yet been confirmed; watch this space.
