Cold Chisel, the iconic Australian rock band, has announced an extensive tour to mark their 50th anniversary. Dubbed “The Big Five-0,” this 11 performance tour will be a unique celebration of the band’s enduring legacy and love for live performance, uniting bandmates Jimmy Barnes, Phil Small, Ian Moss and Don Walker.

This tour stands out from previous ones as it is not promoting a new album. Instead, the band is hitting the road in October and November 2024 simply to celebrate their passion for playing live music together. As the band members have expressed, their motivation for this tour is purely the joy of performing.

“This 50th anniversary tour will be a huge celebration – for all of us,” explained band member Don Walker.

Fans attending “The Big Five-0” can expect a setlist filled with the band’s most beloved songs. Cold Chisel’s repertoire, which includes classics like “Khe Sanh,” “Bow River,” “Flame Trees,” “You Got Nothin’ I Want,” “When The War Is Over,” “My Baby,” “Cheap Wine,” “All For You,” “Choir Girl,” “Last Wave of Summer,” “Saturday Night,” “Breakfast at Sweethearts,” and “Forever Now,” will be featured prominently. This tour offers fans a chance to experience the songs that have defined the band’s career.

Cold Chisel’s journey began in Armidale and Adelaide in 1974, and over the years, they have released multiple gold and platinum albums. Their latest album, Blood Moon, released in 2019, topped the charts, and its lead single, “Getting The Band Back Together,” won the APRA Award for Australia’s Most Performed Rock Work, highlighting the band’s ongoing relevance.

The band’s contributions to music have been widely recognised. They have been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, received the APRA’s Ted Albert Award, and even had a street in Adelaide named in their honour. These accolades reflect the special place Cold Chisel holds in the hearts of their fans across Australasia.
