Robert Irwin may be out of a hosting gig for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Australia, but fear not, he’s joining the hosting panel of rebooted Australian Ninja Warrior on Ten.
The Wildlife Warrior is in high demand as a host world right now. He’s the host of the new show in the US, Dancing with The Stars: The Next Pro, and is taking up the mantle of MC at the 2026 TV WEEK Logie Awards.
As mentioned, one hosting gig he is out of is I’m A Celeb, which Ten cancelled earlier this year. However, the show is coming back on Seven, which swooped in and bought the rights. There’s no word on who will host Seven’s rebooted version, but fans are speculating that Dr Chris Brown (who’s currently under contract to Seven) could return as host.
However, Ten is still keeping Robert busy with the rebooted Australian Ninja Warrior, coming back to our screens in 2027.
“Stepping into a role like Australian Ninja Warrior is such an incredible adventure,” Robert said in a statement. “I have been a fan of this show for a long time. Not only are we watching the pinnacle of athleticism, but we also get to see how dedication, courage and hard work can create heroes on the course. We see passionate people discovering they’re capable of more than they ever imagined.”
“My co-hosts will have the full-time job of keeping me from attempting the course myself!”
Joining Robert as hosts are Georgie Tunny and Amazing Race Australia host, Beau Ryan. I can already see Robert attempting the iconic wall at the end of the course.
“What I love most about Australian Ninja Warrior is that every competitor arrives with a story,” Georgie said of the show. “It’s not just about conquering the course; it’s about determination, resilience, and the people who inspire us to keep showing up, no matter what the challenge. I’m thrilled to be part of sharing those moments with audiences across Australia.”
Georgie announced the news on 10 News. She also reports on 10News+, however her time on that show may be cut short as it has been announced that Ten is cutting its weekday broadcast in favour of a Sunday night airing.
Beau Ryan makes up the trio of hosts, and he actually competed on the show.
“I’ve always loved a bit of healthy competition, and having competed on Australian Ninja Warrior before, I know just how tough that course really is,” he added in the statement.
For those who aren’t in the know, Australian Ninja Warrior is essentially a timed obstacle course. The casting call dubs it “the Olympics for everyday Australians”. Each competitor enters the course solo, and the fastest person wins.
Ten’s rebooted version will feature a new course. Casting is now open for the show.
