The Block family is growing once again as 2023 lovebirds Brett and Kristy Beames are expecting their first baby.
Kristy and Brett confirmed they were expecting a baby girl during an interview with Woman’s Day, also revealing she is set to arrive in May 2026.
“We’re beyond excited,” Kristy said. “The timing is perfect for this next chapter of our lives.”
The pair, both 37, competed on the 2023 season of the Channel Nine renovation series. They did make a brief appearance in the 2025 season of The Block alongside their season winners Steph and Gian.
Despite the recent appearance, Kristy and Brett only recently broke the news to Block host Shelley Craft – after friends and family, of course.
“Our families were ecstatic with the news, and partially shocked,” Kristy told the Woman’s Day. “We made sure each announcement was personalised to make it that bit more special. Brett’s mum was first to hear, quickly followed by my dad.”
Kristy further told the publication that it had been a chaotic six months as they renovate their own home. Given their busy schedules, neither Kristy or Brett have designed the bubs nursery or thought of a baby name. But the pair have months to prepare!
“My thoughts on her name is something I want to take my time with and make sure it is timeless and not something she will hate,” she told the publication.
The lovebirds will soon celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary, as Kristy and Brett said ‘I do’ on November 29, 2019.
“Can’t wait to see what whacky adventures the next 5 years married hold,” Kristy wrote on their fifth wedding anniversary in 2024.
