How to add a Steve Madden discount code

Steve Madden gives you a way to easily add a discount code to your cart or at the checkout. Here’s how it works:

  1. Get your code: Choose any of the tested offers here and you’ll get the code and details when you click on it. Our team personally test and keep these offers updated to make it easy.
  2. Shop at Steve Madden: Switch to the new tab we’ve opened, or click on ‘Visit Steve Madden’ after copying the code and you’ll go straight to the relevant section of the site. Then just choose the shoes and accessories you want and add them to cart.
  3. Log in (optional): If you have an account, login for a faster checkout. Otherwise, you can checkout as a guest or create an account for free.
  4. Add the code to your cart: When you add items to cart, a summary will appear on your screen. Enter the code in the discount code field and click apply to update your cart.
  5. Or add the code at checkout: If you don’t add your code in the cart, you can click through to checkout, click on the order summary to expand it, enter the code where it says ‘Discount code or gift card’ and click ‘Apply’. Your order will update with the discount.

Top tips to fix a Steve Madden discount code

As a Deals Editor, I’ve spent enough time at virtual checkouts to know that sometimes a code just doesn’t work. I’ve probably made every mistake under the sun – from entering the code wrong to not meeting the spend requirements or letting a code expire. So if your Steve Madden discount code isn’t applying, these tips help fix it:

  1. Copy and enter the code again: Steve Madden discount codes need to be entered exactly as they’re printed, with all capital letters and characters. So checking and re-entering the code is a quick fix for this issue.
  2. Check if your items are already discounted: Most Steve Madden codes only work on full-price items, including the 10-20% welcome code. So if you have sale items in your cart, the code won’t apply.
  3. Confirm your order meets any other code requirements: Some offers may also list specific brands, a minimum spend or other details. Steve Madden may actually send unique discount codes to subscribers from time to time, so you’ll find details there. I also found the promotional T&Cs helpful when I wanted to check the conditions for the welcome discount.
  4. Check if the code is still valid: Steve Madden discount codes are usually only available for a limited time. Most are also single-use, so if you’ve previously used the code it won’t work again. The Australian Women’s Weekly tests every code and offer here, and reads the fine print to help take the guesswork out of it for you. But if you get a code elsewhere, check the fine print. Or contact Steve Madden through the online chat or contact form so they can help.

Can I get a Steve Madden discount code for my first order?

Yes, Steve Madden offers a 10% discount on your first order after signing up for the newsletter, or an even bigger 20% discount if you also subscribe for SMS updates.

Editor’s note: These are currently the main discount codes for Steve Madden in Australia. But The Australian Women’s Weekly team regularly update our tested offers, so you can check back for other verified codes and more ways to save.

Is there a Steve Madden promo code for free shipping?

Steve Madden actually offers free shipping on orders over $99, with no need for a code. But if there ever is a promo code or coupon that offers free shipping, you’ll find it here as our Deals Researchers regularly review, verify and update these offers.

Is there a student discount at Steve Madden in Australia?

There’s currently no specific student discount for Steve Madden in Australia. But you can subscribe to get the welcome discount, as well as emails/text updates on the latest offers to help you save while studying.

It’s worth noting that there is a US Steve Madden student discount for 25% off, which unfortunately doesn’t work in Australia. There are also no discounts for essential workers, concession cardholders or other specific groups in Australia right now. But if you’re searching, you may come across these offers. So it’s worth being aware that I’ve checked to confirm they are country/region specific. If new offers become available in Australia, you’ll find them here.

Does Steve Madden have a rewards program?

There isn’t currently a Steve Madden rewards program in Australia. You can subscribe for newsletter and text updates that give you access to the latest promotional offers and deals.

I also found a US Steve Madden rewards program, SM Pass, which offers tiered member benefits and birthday rewards for shoppers in the United States (not AU). If you’re researching the brand you may come across details of SM Pass and the related perks. But right now, it’s not available in Australia. If that changes, I’ll update you here.

How The Australian Women’s Weekly sources and tests Steve Madden discount codes and offers

Steve Madden is known for on-trend shoes, bags accessories for any occasion, including a beautiful wedding collection. So whether you’re shopping for trendy loafers, stylish and comfortable heels, searching for a party-season bag or anything else, here you’ll find our pick of Steve Madden discount codes, offers and deals – all tested and verified as active so you can use them to save.

The Australian Women’s Weekly takes a hands-on approach, too, with an in-house team that source codes through our network of partners, independent research and other trusted resources. Then, each code is individually tested on the Steve Madden Australia website to make sure it works. And the team check the terms and conditions for every offer to call out other important details. Unlike some places where you can get codes and offers, you’ll only see current, active and valuable offers you can shop with now. So you can spend less time searching for value and more time getting the Steve Madden pieces you want.

Five ways to save on Steve Madden

  1. Sale section: Steve Madden has a whole sale tab with great discounts on shoes, handbags and accessories. I found a pair of best-selling boots for 45% off and a chic pair of leather flats for 50% off last time I checked. With similar discounts on handbags, too.
  2. Subscriber offers: As well as the 10% newsletter welcome discount or 20% newsletter and text discount, subscribing for updates from Steve Madden means you’ll be among the first to know about the latest collection and offers. That may even include exclusive discount codes from time to time.
  3. Get the app: Steve Madden sometimes runs exclusive app offers where you can save on either almost all items. According to the terms and conditions, app offers are applied at the checkout, but you’ll see details of the discount available when you’re browsing.
  4. Check other retailers: Steve Madden shoes and handbags are also sold at Myer, THE ICONIC, Strand and David Jones, which also have their own sales and promotions. So you may be able to get a discount by checking these retailers (especially if you’re a member of one of their loyalty programs).
  5. Major sales: Steve Madden has sales throughout the year, but I’ve found the biggest discounts are usually during major sales including Black Friday, Boxing Day and Afterpay Day. For example, during Afterpay Day in August 2026, Steve Madden offered a 25% discount on select full-price styles and an extra 30% off sale items, which was applied at cart. And for Black Friday last year, I saw up to 50% off select styles.

“Steve Madden has become one of my go-to websites when I want shoes and a bag for a special occasion. I’ve noticed there are oftem valuable, limited-time discounts too. In the past, I’ve seen 15% off bundles, and just recently a $30 discount for orders over $150 – which is equivalent to up to 20% off.”

Steve Madden FAQs: Shopping, delivery returns and more

Have a question about shopping directly with Steve Madden in Australia? I’ve spent hours going through almost every page of the website to bring you answers to common questions, all in one place.

What are the delivery costs for Steve Madden in Australia?

Steve Madden offers free standard delivery for all orders over $99 in Australia. The delivery fees for orders under $99 and for express shipping are calculated at the checkout, rather than being listed on the website (I checked!).

But to give you an idea, I looked at delivery costs for pair of sneakers on sale for $41.30 – well under the free shipping threshold. Standard delivery was $10 and express delivery was $14.99 when I checked for addresses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Darwin, Wollongong and the Gold Coast. But keep in mind that the size of your order, as well as the location and other factors may also affect the cost.

Can I click and collect?

Steve Madden doesn’t currently offer click and collect. But if you want to pick up an order, you could check if Myer or David Jones has it in stock, as they do offer click and collect for online orders.

Where are Steve Madden stores?

Steve Madden has concept stores at QVB in Sydney, Highpoint and Doncaster in Melbourne and at Brisbane’s Chermside shopping centre. There is also a DFO outlet in Homebush (Sydney), and outlets in Liverpool and Eastern Creek. You can also search for Steve Madden outlets at David Jones and Melbourne on the Steve Madden website.

Does Steve Madden offer returns?

Yes, Steve Madden gives you 30 days to return items if you’ve changed your mind but there is a $5 handling fee and you need to pay the return postage fees.

You can save on postage fees by returning items to any of these Steve Madden stores:

  • NSW: Sydney DFO Homebush, Sydney Outlet Village, Eastern Creek Quarter Outlet
  • VIC: Doncaster, Highpoint Shopping Centre

Editor’s note: The T&Cs say you can return items to the DFO in Canberra, but that’s closed so you won’t be able to take returns there anymore.

What else to know about returns at Steve Madden

  • The items need to be unworn and in their original condition, with original tags and packaging.
  • You can only get a refund on full-price items.
  • Sale or ‘red-ticketed’ items can be exchanged in-store, or returned via post for a Steve Madden gift card.
  • Refunds are processed within 1-7 business days after Steve Madden has received and checked the returned items.
  • You’ll only get a refund on the amount you paid, so any discount code amount won’t be refunded.
  • Final sale and warehouse items can’t be returned if you change your mind.
  • If there’s an issue with your order, such as a manufacturing fault, contact Steve Madden to discuss your option for returns under Australian Consumer Law.

You can also check the return policy for more details.

How I’d shop at Steve Madden to get the biggest discount when I want it

Steve Madden has the kind of heels that can make any outfit look polished, and the boots and sneaker collections are currently on my radar for work and weekends – along with a couple of chic-yet-practical sized handbags. While I think the prices are already competitive, as someone who’s spent more than 17 years writing about money, shopping and lifestyle, I always look for a discount or deal.

Right now, I’m new to shopping directly with Steve Madden (although the brand has previously caught my eye at Myer, David Jones and Strand). So that means I can get the 20% welcome discount by signing up for email and text updates. Based on my research, staying subscribed is an easy way to get the latest discount codes and other offers. So, if you’re following the same steps as me, consider keeping up to date with those emails and texts.

Beyond that, seasonal promotional offers would be my go-to. In the past I’ve seen 15% off bridal bundles, which would also be perfect for other special events. And of course, I’ll hold out for big discounts when Black Friday rolls around. But whenever you’re shopping, you’ll find the latest active Steve Madden discount codes, offers and savings right here, thanks to our regular checks and updates.
