"It’s time for the next chapter."

After many years openly struggling with infertility, The Bachelor Australia alumnae Brittany Hockley has announced her pregnancy with professional soccer player, Ben Siegrest.

In a video shared to Instagram, the pair gave their dog Delilah some love before the sportsman leaned over to kiss Brittany’s exposed belly. With the beautiful sunset and Sydney Harbour Bridge setting the scene.

“Can’t believe we are saying this, but it’s time for the next chapter… Baby squid is on its way!” she captioned the video.

The pair, who have been married since June 2024, have been trying for years to have children together. But in August 2026, Brittany revealed doctors confirmed it would be a “miracle” if she and Ben conceived naturally.

It was just in July the Life Uncut co-host was sharing her reality of being 38 years old – now 39 – married, with no kids when “everyday I get asked why I don’t have kids.”

“It’s not for lack of trying trust me,” she began. “But we haven’t been able to fall pregnant. This is just the truth of it.

“Anyone that struggles with infertility knows, it consumes your life and your thoughts. Because I also wonder when and if we will have kids. It truly is exhausting. So anyone going through it, I get it. I get you. I feel you. There’s a lot of us!

“Until then, I guess we just keep travelling and enjoying life and hey, trying in different tropical locations isn’t the worst,” she concluded.

Studies have shown the fertility rate begins to decline around age 30. Knowing this, at 33 years old, Brittany froze her eggs. At the time, she was single and focused on her career.

“I wanted my future self to be empowered and have the option to create the life she wanted on her own timeline – not the one prescribed by society,” she said, per Genea, a fertility care-provider.

In 2024, Brittany and Ben went through the costly process of freezing embryos. Unfortunately, after only managing to get three, one didn’t survive and the other wasn’t viable. The final embryo was found to have a “really rare abnormality.”

“That was devastating, to go through so much and have all of science and paid so much money and your hormones have gone through everything, and you have so much hope that you’re going to get what you want and you get nothing,” Brittany shared on the Life Uncut podcast with co-host Laura Byrne.

“As smart women we know it’s not our fault, yet we can’t help but feel like failures when our body doesn’t keep up… The pressure to not let down a partner, even though you’re doing everything you can and it’s often not in your control.”

Their romance first began in late 2022 after matching on Raya. But they made it Instagram-official in January 2023. Given he is a Scotland-based Swiss goalkeeper and she is based in Australia, the two kept their relationship long-distance and continue to do so.
