Upon hearing the devastating news that Diane had passed aged 79, on October 11, 2025, many fans are commemorating her life by watching some of her best movies and television shows.

Given her stellar career, there are a lot of projects to choose from.

In tribute of Diana Keaton’s memory, The Weekly has rounded up some of her biggest movies below.

The First Wives Club

This smash-hit movie, The First Wives Club released in 1996 with Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and of course, Diane Keaton.

Three middle-aged women reunite for the first time in nearly 30 years to attend the funeral of a former college friend, who took her own life after discovering her ex-husband’s relationship with a younger woman. Shortly after, the women’s own husbands dump them for younger women.

The Godfather

Diane Keaton in a mob drama? Yes please! The Godfather first premiered in 1972, with two additions parts being released later. In all three films, Diane portrayed Kay Adams-Corleone.

The Godfather focuses on the powerful Italian-American crime family, Don Vito Corleone. The head of the mafia family decides to hand over his empire to his son, Michael.

Because I Said So

Before there was the 2025 polka-dot, Diana was portraying meddling mother Daphne Wilder who sported the design whenever possible. Whether it was Daphne’s black and white polka-dot skirt or the iconic red polka-dot dress worn by Mandy Moore’s character Milly Wilder.

Because I Said So follows the mother-daughter duo Daphne and Milly. Daphne is set on ensuring her daughter does not make the same mistakes she once did, even if it cause heartbreak.

The 2007 movie is a hilarious story of strong wills, mother’s love in all its wacky forms, and love.

Hanging Up

Chaotic sisters? Check! Iconic cast? Check!

Hanging Up is a 2000 comedy featuring Meg Ryan, Lisa Kudrow and Diane as sisters only ever connecting with their troublesome father via phone. After years of wild living, their father is threatening to pass away…

The movie admittedly didn’t receive high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, but it’s a story of life, love and lunacy directed by Diane herself.

Hanging Up is available for streaming on Apple TV+ in Australia. It is also available for renting or purchasing on Prime Video.

Annie Hall

Diane was just 31 years old when she starred in Annie Hall, which premiered in 1977.

The rom-com follows Alvy Singer (Woody Allen), reflecting on his relationship with ex-lover Annie Hall. He details how they met, fell in love, and the tumultuous events in their relationship.
