Luke Hemsworth is the oldest of the three famous Hemsworth brothers and he’s also the most private.
Over the past few years, the 45-year-old’s star has risen in both Hollywood and Australia, with the actor most recently starring in the Prime Video series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf and the Australian movie The Beast.
Behind-the-scenes, Luke is married to his wife of almost 20 years, and they are raising their four children together in Byron Bay in the New South Wales northern rivers region.

Luke, and his younger brothers Chris and Liam, were raised by their parents Leonie and Craig in Melbourne, in the middle of the Northern Territory, and on Philip Island.
During a 2016 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Luke joked about growing up in the “Hemsworth house of horrors” and said the brothers were known for their “roughhousing”.
“I think as we got older, parents of kids we knew would gradually drop their kids off further and further away from our house,” he joked.
He added that he beat up his brothers all the time.
“Every chance I could, and I still do,” he told host Jimmy Kimmel. “They’re really tall, but they’re actually quite soft — and they cry a lot. I take great joy in making them cry.”
Luke was the first of the brothers to pursue acting, landing a role on Neighbours in 2001.
While talking to People at the premiere of his new TV show The Terminal List: Dark Wolf in 2025, Luke said he would love to work with both his brothers one day.
“I would love it to do all three of us together in a film,” he told People. “Liam and I have had a wonderful experience doing another war film called Land of Bad a few years ago and Chris and I have done, you know, a little bit together in the in the Thor films, but I feel like it should be on the cards … and maybe it is, you know, [I’ll] put it out there.”
Who is Luke Hemsworth’s wife?
Luke married his wife Samantha in 2007. Not much is known about Samantha as she prefers to keep a low profile.
In 2021, the couple shared tributes to each other on Instagram to mark their 14th wedding anniversary.
“14 loooooong years of marriage. I hope the years get longer. Happy anniversary @thesamanthahemsworth #ilikeyouilikeualot,” Luke captioned a carousel of photos of the pair together.
Samantha also posted a photo of the couple on a boat together.
“Happy anniversary legend @hemsworthluke have fun at work and enjoy room service #anotheranniversaryapart 🤣 #ilikeyou,” she wrote in her caption.

Luke and Samantha share four children — daughters Holly, 16, Ella, 15, and Harper, 13, and son Alexandre, 12.
In 2020, the family relocated back to Australia after living in Los Angeles for seven years.
“We moved late December so the kids could start school here in January. They are loving it – we are all loving it. It’s good to be back,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald at the time.
“The quality of life back home is unparalleled. You just don’t get that over there,” continued.
“LA still holds a dear place in my life – and particularly Malibu, which is where we lived. It will always be a big part of our family, and it’s where [the kids] grew up most of their life. But I think we definitely made the right move – I love being close to my parents, and being able to walk down to the beach every day is pretty rad.”
Last year, the Westworld star told People one of the kids has caught the acting bug and is considering following in her famous father’s footsteps.
“My oldest daughter’s a really good singer, so she’s not catching the bug. The youngest one says she wants to,” he said. “But I’m trying to get her to read more, write some scripts down and read more books.”
