The 2026 season of Farmer Wants A Wife is going so fast, it’s already intruder time. Before you read on, just a friendly warning that there are major spoilers for episode eight of Farmer Wants A Wife below.
I have been covering this show for the better part of a decade and am well-versed in its lore and parlance. This popular reality show, responsible for 11 marriages and close to 30 children, is a mainstay on Aussie television. One of its alumni, Farmer David and Emily McMahon, joined us on The Australian Women’s Weekly Love Stories podcast to talk all about their time on the show. And they brought along their 8-week-old daughter, Willa! Watch the episode here.

Episode 8
Each episode of the 2026 Farmer Wants A Wife season seems to pick up right where the previous one left off – something I’m personally loving; it means no detail is spared! And episode eight was thankfully no different.
The episode began on Jarrad’s farm, the morning after he brought intruder Christina back to the farm. Before going to breakfast, the almond farmer told producers that his decision “hit harder than I was anticipating”.
Seriously? You didn’t anticipate that three women you’ve been dating for a few weeks would be upset at you for bringing a fourth woman into the mix?! (If you’re new to my recaps, I’m not particularly fond of Farmer Jarrad.)
Jarrad went on to say that he “felt a bit guilty” about kissing Christina on their date. And yet, when he arrived at breakfast, no grovelling took place; even though the tension could’ve been cut with a knife.
Instead, Jarrad spent the morning with this irritatingly smug smirk on his face and, at one point, was clearly trying to hold back laughter. I said it in my recap of episode seven, and I’ll say it again: upsetting three women who have feelings for you is NOT a laughing matter.
Yvonne felt the same way I did. “I’m waiting for him to put his big boy pants on and come chat to me,” she told producers.
Over on Jason’s farm, intruder Kimberley decided to tell Logan and Poppy that she and Jason “have a past.” She told them all about how she and the dairy farmer met in an FWAW fan group a few years ago and chatted online for quite a while before things fizzled out.
Logan didn’t take the news too well and told producers, “I would’ve preferred Jason to tell us.” More on that later…
In a stark contrast, things were all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows on Alex’s farm. He was the only farmer this year not to invite an intruder back to the farm, and Eddy, Suzannah and Rachel were all smiles as a result.
In fact, frontrunner for Alex’s heart, Eddy was so happy that she pulled the mushroom farmer aside for a private chat. She then confessed, “I am starting to really like you, and I hope you feel the same way.” And Alex replied with: “I thought about you a lot yesterday. Most of the day, if I’m honest… There was no part of me that wanted to bring her [Madison, the intruder] back because I just wanted to see you.”
The two then shared a sweet but long, passionate kiss that seriously rivalled the iconic ones you see in movies like Noah and Allie’s in The Notebook and Peter Parker and MJ’s upside-down smooch in Spider-Man.
I literally teared up watching the whole exchange; this is one of the best genuine connections Farmer Wants A Wife has produced in seasons! If Alex doesn’t pick Eddy at the end of this season, I’ll eat my hat.
At this stage, Natalie Gruzlewski contacted all the farmers and invited them (and all of their respective ladies) to the Annual Dugong Country Fair.
The country fair kicked off with the farmers spending some quality man time together, bonding over their FWAW experiences thus far.
Alex took the opportunity to share with Jason, Dylan, Jarrad and Zac: “Eddy’s really standing out, she’s been standing out since the beginning. And every day with her is a good one. I feel like every time I look at her, it’s the first time looking at her. She’s special, she’s really special.”
What’s wrong with me?! I teared up AGAIN when Alex said this. Please, just send Suzannah and Rachel home already so you and Eddy can ride off into the sunset.
Jason then admitted to his fellow farmers that he knew his intruder, Kimberley, previously. Zac rightly advised him to tell Logan and that ASAP. But little did the dairy fairy know that Kimberely had already spilled the beans.
While the farmers were catching up, the ladies were doing the same. There was some obvious jealousy when Alex’s ladies arrived without an ‘intruder’ amongst them.
There was some good old-fashioned gossiping, too; Yvonne told Poppy and Logan that Jarrad kissed Christina on their intruder date. The two gasped, and then Logan flat-out admitted she doesn’t like Kimberley. Ouch.
Meanwhile, the intruders – Kimberley, Christina, Asha and Keeley – bonded, with them all saying they’re well aware the original ladies are not happy but are not going down without a fight.
At this point, Natalie arrived at the fair and told the ladies to try to get a moment alone with their farmer. This was because a solo date is up for grabs, and each farmer will have to decide who to invite on it at the end of the night.
Kimberley got straight to work and took Jason on the dodgem cars. And during the ride, she said how regretful she is that she let their online connection fizzle out, and she really is glad he invited her back to the farm.
Rachel was quick to act too and took Alex aside. However, she said something that should have been said episodes ago:
“There’s a part of me that can’t stop thinking that your mind is already made up in Eddy,” Alex replied, “Eddy and I have connected. But there’s still time left, and if I was gonna walk, I’d walk… I’m not closed off, is what I’m saying. Don’t worry.”
Pfft. Rachel was pleased with this answer, but I didn’t believe Alex for a second.
Jarrad suddenly had the brilliant revelation that he should check in with all his ladies after bringing Christina back to the farm, pulling Brodie (who’s yet to have a solo date) aside first.
I have to commend Brodie for being so open and honest. She admitted that she has no idea where she stands with Jarrad because he’s hard to read. Plus, there’s the fact that he obviously hasn’t picked her for a solo date yet.
Jarrad assured her that he is getting feelings for her by saying, “It hasn’t been fireworks, but it’s been consistently building to something special.”
I’m sorry, but if someone I was dating told me “it hasn’t been fireworks”, I’d dump the bum, go home and cry into a tub of ice cream. However, his smooth talking seemed to work on Brodie, because she was all smiles.
Zac and Grace went for a private chat next, but they didn’t speak much; they pretty much just kissed.
And while all of this was going down, Dylan was unloading on producers.
“I’m a bit torn about who to take on this date. Even though I brought Keeley back, I don’t want nothing [sic] to change between Ally and Scarlett.”
Um, did he forget about Renae?! I have thought since the first episode that Renae would’ve been a perfect match for Dylan, but I’m now officially of the opinion that she deserves better than him. Seriously, he has done nothing but ignore her since their speed date, and it’s honestly rude. I’m actually a little disappointed in Dylan.
Ultimately, Ally took the initiative and pulled Dylan for a private chat. She was extremely forthcoming. She admitted that not only does she like the sheep farmer, but she also wants to have kids in the next five years.
Dylan visibly gulped and said, “The ‘five years’ kind of scares me a little bit.” But before he could continue that train of thought, Scarlett came out of nowhere and interrupted him, demanding he speak with her immediately. Ally was clearly upset and walked away as Scarlett dived right in.
“I’m feeling very uncomfortable with this situation,” Scarlett said, referring to Dylan choosing to bring back intruder Keeley.
She ranted a little more about Keeley and then went on to ask Dylan, “You are really important to me, but what really worries me is your and Ally’s connection, and am I wasting my time by sticking around?”
He put her at ease immediately, though.
“I’m kind of head over boots for ya. I wanted to pull you aside later and tell ya… You mean a lot to me. I dare say I’m falling for you a bit.”
She smiled and said in a small voice, “I might be too.” The two embraced, but it was nowhere near as sweet as Alex and Eddy’s earlier kiss.
Jarrad took Yvonne for a chat next. She voiced that his choosing to bring Christina back to the farm was really hurtful, and it made her question a few things. Including whether or not Jarrad has genuine feelings for her.
Jarrad assured Yvonne he does have feelings for her and then promised that he’d be more open and communicative moving forward. The two ended up kissing. I may have rolled my eyes because I think Jarrad is nothing but a very seasoned player who knows exactly what to say to get what he wants, but whatever. I might be wrong.
Meanwhile, Zac’s intruder, Asha, pulled the apple farmer aside and admitted that she was feeling very overwhelmed and had decided to go home. He seemed shocked (as was I, it’s been less than 24 hours since she was invited to the farm), but she swiftly hugged him, hopped in a car and left.
Jason and Logan went for a private chat next, and she did not hold back. At all.
“Kimberley, I don’t know about her. It’s a really uncomfortable situation for me… The fact that you brought her back is a bit weird. You’re really hard to read, Jason. I haven’t seen that you’re interested in me.”
“I don’t know,” Jason replied. I thought Logan would’ve flown off the handle at this comment, but she didn’t. Instead, she softened and admitted that she likes Jason and can see them being together. She can also see herself and her children (she’s a single parent like Jason) one day living on the farm.
This cracked Jason, and he confessed, “I do see something there as well.” The dairy farmer went on to say that he really likes Logan but isn’t the best at communicating or being vulnerable. He then promised he would try to open up more moving forward, and this led to Jason and Logan sharing a smooch (or two).
Next up was Zac and Maya going for a private chat. She admitted that she likes him and can see “something developing” between them. He smiled at this, but then (and I know this sounds really mean, but) it morphed into a really weird face. Maya even asked, “What’s that face?”
She seemed to find it endearing, but to me, it looked like the weird face teen boys make when they’re with a girl they like. I’m sorry, but is Zac 24 or 17?! I stand by what I’ve written in previous recaps: this guy is not mature enough to settle down and get married just yet.
Maya either doesn’t mind or doesn’t realise it, though; she asked if she could kiss Zac, and he happily obliged.
Elsewhere at the country fair, Renae decided that if she didn’t get the solo date, she would leave. And fair enough, Dylan has not given her the attention she deserves.
Renae then pulled Dylan aside for a chat to tell him her decision. In previous episodes (and seasons), these ‘pick me for the next date or I’ll leave’ ultimatums have annoyed me, but Renae’s didn’t, as she was so sweet and genuine. And she actually has a leg to stand on, unlike previous ladies. Dylan even said, “I am sorry. I haven’t given you any time… I don’t know what to say. I feel terrible.”
“I really did feel something for you on the first date, and I had a good gut feeling, but I think yours has faded?” Renae prodded.
“I’m not going to lie to you. It’s gone… I don’t want to waste your time if my heart’s not there,” Dylan confessed, rather bluntly.
He has handled this whole thing so poorly, and I know he’s young, but I’m actually disgusted. He should’ve either given her a chance and picked her for the next solo date, or at least been a little gentler with his delivery.
Renae understandably left in tears, and my heart broke for her. Producers then had to help her breathe through a panic attack before putting her in a car so she could go home. Dylan didn’t even say goodbye (or if he did, it wasn’t shown). If you’re reading this, Renae: I’m so sorry, and I hope you find a man who puts you first and treats you the way you deserve to be treated.
And on that sad note, it was time for each farmer to pick someone for the solo date.
Dylan picked Scarlett for the solo date, and I don’t know if it’s because of what went down with Renae or because of something else, but he said, “I pick Scarlett” rather angrily, grabbed her hand and practically dragged her off the set. Essentially, it was clear he was aggravated. Perhaps the stress of dating multiple women is starting to get to him…
The remaining farmers revealed who they had chosen for the solo dates in a more loving, romantic way, with Zac picking Maya, Jarrad picking Brodie, Jason picking Logan, and Alex picking Eddy.
However, Rachel was not happy with Alex’s choice. She told producers right at the end of the episode, “Actions speak louder than words. I don’t want to be with someone who says one thing, but their actions say another.”
