After years of covering sales, here’s what I’ve learnt about making the most of early Black Friday deals:
1. Start now, don’t wait
Some of the best deals are happening right now, and popular items sell out fast. If you see something you want at a price you’re happy with, grab it.
2. Make a list
Write down what you actually need (versus what catches your eye in the moment). This helps you focus on the early Black Friday deals that matter most.
3. Set a budget
Sales are exciting, but stick to what you can afford. The early Black Friday deals will still be good deals if they fit your budget.
4. Check return policies
Before you buy, make sure you understand the store’s return policy, especially for sale items. Some retailers have different policies during sales periods.
5. Compare prices
Just because something says it’s on sale doesn’t mean it’s the best price. I like to check a few retailers before committing.
Black Friday officially falls on November 28 this year, with Cyber Monday following on December 1. But as you can see, the early Black Friday deals are already here and well worth shopping.
