We’ve seen epic love stories and horrendous fails come out of Married At First Sight Australia (MAFS), and the 2026 couples were no different.
Returning to guide the couples are relationship experts John Aiken and Mel Schilling, and sexologist Alessandra Rampolla.
Some of these couples started the 13th season with a bang, others learned to co-exist with a partner they don’t get along with, and some have literally fled the experiment.
Not everyone has survived the three months, but that is what makes MAFS so exciting! Below, we reveal whether the couples on Married At First Sight Australia 2026 are still together or not.
Married At First Sight Australia 2026 Couples:
Bec & Danny
Not Together
Bec, 35, and Danny, 34, are still exploring their connection in the experiment with the former even confessing her love! Unfortunately, Danny is yet to say ‘I love you.’
“It put me on the spot a little bit,” Danny said. “She could tell me 10,000 times, if I don’t feel it, I’m not going to say it back.”
The experiment certainly wasn’t a smooth journey for Danny or Bec. Initially trust and intimacy was their biggest issue, until Bec repeatedly found herself caught up in the MAFS drama. They just weren’t meant to be – but Bec didn’t know that little tidbit until Danny called it quits at final vows.
“Stepping away from the experiment in the last week, I really thought about how I felt having space on my own again. As much as it breaks my heart to say this, I felt a weight come off my shoulders – at a time when I knew I should have been missing you,” Danny said.
“I believe you can have multiple soul mates in life, some who are your best friends and some who are your lovers. Bec, I believe you’re my soulmate as a friend but I’ve come to realise there’s doubt in my mind that if you are my soulmate as a lover. Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, I’m so sorry to do this to you, but I can’t be your husband anymore,” he concluded.
Rebecca & Steve
Not Together
They have experienced love, marriage and divorce. But heading into the experiment, Rebecca and Steve were determined to find that special someone to enjoy their next stage of life with. Unfortunately, they weren’t meant to be.
We had such high hopes in the beginning, as Rebecca, 51, gushed over the “silver fox” Steve, 50. Their chemistry continued until viewers jaw dropped when Steve began listing Rebecca’s “red flags.”
“Rebecca’s a lot in general… it’s too much for me,” Steve said. “I don’t think I’m doing a lot wrong. I was calling out a few things, and Rebecca can be quite obnoxious.”
Their MAFS journey took quite the turn… Naturally, Rebecca and Steve are no longer together.
Mel & Luke
Not Together
This pairing had one of the more disastrous beginnings on MAFS.
Mel, 28, was expecting a fairytale wedding and a rom-com worthy leading man. But after Luke, 30, was late to the ceremony because he forgot the rings, Mel shut down.
However, noticing her wrongs, Mel eventually tried to open herself up to the relationship. Unfortunately, their connection only grew as friends. Mel and Luke left the experiment early.
Gia & Scott
Not Together
The self-proclaimed ‘power couple’ came to a fiery end on MAFS 2026. But not before they got matching tattoos together. Viewers had high hopes for the pair, and proud mother Gia, 35, immediately hit it off with Scott, 33.
“Honestly, I couldn’t thank the experts enough for matching me with someone like Gia,” Scott told MAFS producers. “This is the one I’ve been looking for. This is a true love story right now.”
As the experiment progressed, Gia found herself wrapped up in the MAFS drama – pulling focus away from their relationship. Sitting in front of his fellow participants, Scott admitted that Gia could be his “soulmate.” Yet, he couldn’t say the L word to her – something Gia was waiting for him to confess first.
Scott remained loyal to his wife, he finally admitted to the experts there was something disfunctional with their relationship. Then, the participants went on their final task where Scott watched Gia flirt with her other potential match. Alas, their relationship really blew up from here.
Their doom was ultimately spoiled for viewers mid-way through the season after Gia was spotted in real-life, cuddling up to Love Triangle’s Allan Wallace. Scott and Gia’s relationship officially ended on MAFS before the last Dinner Party.
Rachel & Steven
Not Together
Having experienced their fair share of dating woes, the relationship experts had high hopes for Rachel and Steven. While it wasn’t all smooth sailings, they listened to the experts advice, letting their affection for one another be their motivation to stick the experiment out.
They respectfully stayed out of the all-consuming drama, until the details of their physical intimacy was put into focus during the Couples Retreat. This “awkward” moment naturally put a temporary halt to their intimacy.
Rachel and Steven were among the few couples who made it to final vows, and even decided to continue a relationship in the real world. However, Rachel’s biggest concern, that she wouldn’t be prioritised over Steven’s work in Sydney, came true… their demise was revealed prior to the Dinner Party reunion.
“On the last commitment ceremony, I expressed my concern that Steven was going to go back to his normal life, and I would become a burden and it’s going to be easier to let me go, which I very much feel like that’s what’s come to fruition,” she said on Abbie Chatfield’s It’s A Lot podcast.
Brook & Chris
Not Together
Do opposites attract? Well, the MAFS experts were determined to answer that question by matching Brook and Chris, but they actually had more similarities than we initially believed.
From the wedding, Chris’ values regarding his ideal woman were very clear. Brook was unaware, until she watched his audition tape, revealing his disapproval of women who are “clingy,” “fat” or wear fake tan.
Viewers were well aware of Chris’ brutal opinions of his ideal woman, but Brook discovered his values by watching audition tape.
After a few more speed bumps, came the disastorous MAFS Dinner Party… and rather than be held accountable by the relationship experts, Brook fled during the commitment ceremony.
It’s safe to say, Brook and Chris are no longer together.
Alissa & David
Not Together
“I don’t think I can marry you,” Alissa told her husband, David at the altar. What a way to start the wedding! Thankfully, it was just a joke.
The romantic connection has steadily grown between Alissa and David. However, Alissa has found herself between the Bec and Gia feud which would cause a strain on any relationship. Yet, through the tears and shocking group chat messages, David has stood by his wife’s side.
We had such high hopes for the pair, but it all came crashing down after the final test on MAFS.
At final vows, David said his peace before walking away. Leaving Alissa to speak her vows to an empty room.
Julia & Grayson
Not Together
Julia had no idea if she was walking down the aisle to greet a man or woman, but she pleasantly surprised when she walked down the aisle to meet Grayson.
Both feeling that “spark” during the wedding, Grayson confessed, “You make me feel safe. I love your energy.”
Unfortunately, Julia and Grayson just weren’t aligned in communication style or love language.
During their third commitment ceremony, the pair officially exited the experiment. While Julia felt Grayson’s “energy” wasn’t “inviting,” the groom claimed his wife could only give “airy fairy” communication.
Grayson and Julia are no longer together.
Stella & Filip
Still Together
Stella absolutely believes in soulmates, and hopefully Filip is the one!
The pair certainly have a lot to bond over, given Stella moved from Lithuania to Australia nine years ago, meanwhile, Filip moved from Croatia when he was just one year old.
“I’m craving connection,” she confessed.
We knew Stella and Filip were still together in the real world mid-experiment after they were captured walking by Cronulla beach by an on-looker, who then shared the video to TikTok.
But what we didn’t know was that Stella and Filip were engaged! At final vows, Filip dropped down to one knee and proposed.
Stephanie and Tyson
Not Together
The first of this season’s intruders, Stephanie and Tyson, got off to a rocky start. Stephanie is ambitious, driven, and passionate, hoping to find someone with similar traits. At 31-years-old, Stephanie has never been in love.
Tyson is a former soldier, serving in an Afghanistan tour, a devout Christian, and a divorcee. At just 23-years-old, he married a Mormon woman from Utah and maintained a long-distance relationship until their divorce. He has now been single for six years.
Both are conservative and reject “woke culture”. However, Tyson gets into hot water when he says that he wants a “submissive wife” who would “take a back seat.” Does he actually? Or does he just not know what the word dismissive means?
As expected, Tyson and Stephanie are no longer still together.
Chris and Sam
Not Together
Another intruder couple, Chris and Sam, have very similar interests and appear at first viewing to be a great match.
After spending some time in the US, Sam returned home to Australia to open a successful cycle spin studio. The 34-year-old has been in two major relationships, and both ended due to distance. A blend of country and city life, Chris owns both a gym and a farm!
38-year-old Sam also loves the outdoors and shares that he hopes to be matched with a masculine partner who enjoys dressing up and getting muddy on the farm.
But as always, no relationship is perfect. Chris is expecting two children. He is the sperm donor for his friends, who are a lesbian couple, and he’s also expecting another child via a surrogate. He didn’t share the information with his husband on their wedding day, wanting to get to know him better.
While the baby news didn’t cause a cloud over their relationship, a miscommunication did. Sam and Chris are no longer together.
Juliette and Joel
Not Together
The final intruder couple is the similarly named Joel and Juliette. After enjoying her independence, having been single for four years, Juliette is more than ready to settle down. In her search for love, she’s travelled overseas, fallen hard twice and even told a guy she loved him on a second date – only to be ghosted the next day.
Joel has spent the last five years reinventing himself into a stronger and more confident person. His outlook shifted following a bad break-up.
They were both initially taken by the other’s outgoing personalities; however, Joel’s wedding speech did not endear him to Juliette and at the commitment ceremony, she shared that she wasn’t attracted to him.
With the cracks in their relationship starting so early, it wasn’t a surprise when their story came to an end on MAFS.
